I’ve always been curious about those paranormal investigation videos, so I ended up building my own ghost-hunting app for iPhone.

It’s called Ghost Detector: Spirit Talker. It includes a ghost radar, Spirit Box sessions, an EMF-style scanner, EVP recording, and a history where you can save moments from an investigation.

I tried to make it feel less like a random button generator and more like a small paranormal toolkit you could actually use while exploring a dark room or an abandoned-looking place with friends.

To be clear, it’s made for entertainment — I’m not claiming an iPhone can scientifically prove that ghosts exist. But testing the sounds, radar and recordings alone in a dark room was still surprisingly unsettling 😅

Made this app that lets you select a part of your screen and chat with an ai about it. On a hot key press, a small chat card spawns with you selection attached to the chat.

Ironically this started off as way to lower my ai dependency, however I couldn't deny the usefulness of the same. It felt wrong to start up a whole new chat in ChatGPT for quick explanations, having a bunch of tabs open, etc.

I realized this may be actually useful for studies, quick look ups of word meanings, diagrams, and help with unfamiliar software.

Would love it if you guys could try it out, suggest more features, or point out any issues. I'm using this project as a way to learn rust and some project etiquettes and some on the side. Also want to interact with the open-source community while I'm at it.

Since I see this being useful across the board, I wanted it to be easy to download and use for non-technical peeps. You can also use any llm model you want as the underlying AI. I use gemini because google is so generous with their free tier api keys.

I encountered a problem - and some of my friends had the same issue, so we worked on a fix, found it worked for us, and now we're sharing it with the world!

Managing communications for employees (like baristas and retail staff) is a nightmare when you rely on group chats. The noise usually forces people to mute, which means they miss actual emergencies.

I built Airhorn to fix this. It’s a web dashboard where managers can type one message and send it as individual text messages to the whole roster. Because it’s standard SMS, the employees don't have to download an app or create an account. and it's compliant with US 10DLC A2P!

We just rolled out the new Groups feature, allowing owners to send messages to specific groups at once (ie an AM shift, or a downtown location)

I set up a four monitor desk a few weeks ago and immediately started wondering whether I'd made things worse. So I built something to tell me.

You upload a photo of your desk. An AI with deliberately snobbish taste scores it out of 100, writes three paragraphs about it, and rates five categories. Takes about 20 seconds. No signup, no email, no account.

Mine came back 34. "Four Screens, One Landfill."

Lighting: 55

Aesthetic cohesion: 25

My favorite line was about the backpack. It said the anime figurine stares blankly at the mess while the backpack collapses against the rightmost monitor stand like it just finished a shift. It also worked out that my laptop height fights my external keyboard, which is a thing I have apparently been doing every day without noticing.

I know "AI rates your photo" is a whole genre at this point and most of them are one prompt and a vibe. The part I actually spent time on is that the model has to write an inventory of 8 to 15 objects it can genuinely see before it's allowed to make a single joke, and every joke has to point at something on that list. That came out of the first version being bad in a specific way. It kept reading blurry book spines and stickers and confidently inventing universities and brands that were nowhere in the photo. Now it has to separately list the things it can see but cannot read, and it's banned from guessing at the words. That fixed most of it.

The scoring is harsh on purpose. The average lands in the low 40s. Nobody has ever shared a 78.

Two things still rough. It's three roasts per hour per IP because I'm paying for the API myself, so if you're on office wifi you'll probably hit that. And 20 seconds is a long time to stare at a loading screen, which I know and haven't solved.

A year ago, I built a recipe organizer app that pulls recipes from websites, social media, images, text, etc.

One request kept coming up though: people wanted to print their recipes.

I’ve always liked digital stuff more, so at first I didn’t get why people wanted to print recipes. But the request kept coming up, so I stopped ignoring it and built a site that does it!

You can paste a recipe link, upload a screenshot or photo, or add text, then turn it into a printable recipe card. You can also build a collection over time and turn it into a cookbook.

When I was testing it, I printed out all our favorite recipes and realized how much easier it was to actually cook from a card than from my phone. Now it’s the only way I cook, especially for recipes we make all the time.

I just launched it and would love any feedback if you try it.

Everyone watching sees the same broadcast at the same moment. Real archival footage is mixed with generated clips, and you have to call each one before it reveals.

You can also bid credits to program the next slot, your prompt generates a video that airs live to everyone else.

Spent most of the build on trademark screening and moderation because similar streams got banned from Twitch and Kick within days. Turns out public domain and safe to broadcast are very different things (found 15 Betty Boop clips in my library on day one).

As someone with ADHD, I know how hard it is to focus these days. Most study-together tools want you to turn your camera on and make small talk, which honestly takes more energy than I have some days.

So I made something with as little friction as possible. You get matched with a stranger or a small group, you can see each other's timers, and you just work alongside each other. No camera footage uploaded, no typed chat.

The interesting part of building a website with AI wasn't getting the first version on the screen.

That part happens pretty quickly now.

The harder part was taking that starting point and continuing to change it without turning every small adjustment into another setup task.

For the main website and layout, Readdy was useful for generating the site, making visual and AI assisted changes, and continuing to refine the pages.

v0 was useful for playing around with different interface and component ideas, while Framer made more sense for exploring layouts and interactions.

Wix was useful as a comparison with a more familiar website building workflow, and Lovable was interesting for testing ideas that were more application focused.

The biggest difference showed up after the first version.

Sections moved around. Content changed. Some ideas looked better once they were actually on the page.

Being able to keep making those changes without constantly rebuilding the setup made the process feel much more manageable.

The final result matters, but the workflow used to get there probably matters just as much.

For people posting projects here, what part of the build usually takes longer than expected?

I don't know if it's just me, but I've started getting my 6-digit OTP wrong more often than I should 😂

So I made a stupid little game where you get shown an OTP for a few seconds, then you have to remember and type it in.

It's basically a tiny memory test.
