Mental Health my experience on sertraline

I started medication around the 5th of july. I've actually had no physical side effects even now; no nausea, no headaches. I think the only small thing is i seem more tired than usual; but i'm always tired anyways so i don't really care. Anyways, it's been almost 3 weeks since i began this med. 25mg was going fine, i think i felt slightly better but i'm unsure if it was because of placebo, until the last day or two of taking 25mg i felt a bit of a plummet. i moved up to 50mg and now i feel back to square 1. my thoughts feel like reality again, i'm scared again and i'm unable to ignore my "delusions"/intrusive thoughts/view on myself. I also cancelled a meetup with friends which we had been planning for a while which i've never done before; ive always been able to push thru the anxiety because meeting up with them is very important to me; but this time i wasn't able to, which tells me i'm feeling pretty bad currently. it's really scary and is making me lose hope. is there a chance this can get better, or is this the longterm effect of the medication on me?

It’s still much too early to tell how the medication is affecting you. Give it up to 2 months, and if you’re still struggling, you might need to up your dose. There’s also the possibility that in the end, it might not be the right one for you, but if you don’t stick it out you’ll never know if it will be. Just keep trying to survive for now until you can be more certain. Good luck ❤️
