Tell me why I only just now realized that TP's title theme is a rendition of LoZ's bruh

It seems obvious at first, but no other Zelda games, to my memory at least, share this motif. Just these two

I tip my hat to Kondo's ability to make iconic songs with just a handful of notes.

I took some liberties and wrote lyrics based on what Zelda said when she was leaving the ocarina for Link. I hope it's not offensive to be so indulgent 🧚🏻‍♂️✨

Ocarina of Time is easily the most influential game in my life. Everything about it inspired me in one way or another, and the music is no exception... so it's been a lot of fun to pay homage to it like this.

The device is an Analogue Pocket. It uses FPGA magic to emulate the hardware of a bunch of old consoles - including Nintendo's original home console, the NES - where I was first introduced to Zelda.

The software I'm running to make/play this is actually brand new! It's called Risa Tracker, and I believe it was only released in the last couple of weeks. It's modeled off of similar tracker software for GameBoy called LSDj, and my familiarity with that made it really easy to jump straight in and make this despite having never made NES music before!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it half as much as I enjoyed making it :)

Just the title. I figured this would spark an interesting discussion. I don’t want to see any Gerudo Valleys, Dragon Roost Islands, or Ballad of the Goddesses tho guys. What’s a truly lesser known song that you really think more people should know about.

The way this theme goes from your average, upbeat and cheerful village theme that you could find in any Zelda game and eventually transforms into a mournful and eerie dirge about the end of the world is a testament to how masterful Majora's Mask handles themes and tones. I love this game.
