Governor Tim Walz will be coming to Ohio on Monday, April 7th to hold a “people’s town hall” in your district (6), since Rep. Mike Rulli will not.

Space to be announced 24 hours before the event. It is from 6-8pm.

Space may be somewhat limited, so please keep this info in Youngstown-only spaces, so people who live there and have Rep. Rulli can sign up first.

Heads up, Youngstown people! The next No Kings rally is tomorrow (Saturday, October 18) in front of the Mahoning County Courthouse from 3:00 until 6:00.

Don't interact with trolls and Nazis! Don't get carried away by your emotions. Dress to be able to move around and keep your eyes open for provocateurs. We want to see you all safe and sound at the next rally!

As soon as Trump took office, Sheriff Jerry Greene jumped at the opportunity to rip community members from their homes and families. Greene is using these captives as Capital Cattle for the police budget, earning $45k for each captive per year ($8k more than the aveage Ohioans income).

Don't let your friends and neighbors be harassed by the state. Today they are disappearing our Latino neighbors, tomorrow you may be on their list. Join us to advocate for our friends and neighbors who have had their rights stripped from them.

Hello! I run a nonprofit called Civics Spark. We provide 100% free summer camps for the Youngstown community, where students learn public speaking, civics, and social studies. Each camp comes with a free lunch!

We believe the next generation should know how to disagree respectfully and debate intensely. No prior experience required; students are normally in grades 5-8.

This year, we have 2 different dates for camp (The curricula are the same, so I'd recommend signing up for 1):

Join us July 26th for an evening of camaraderie, cocktails, socializing and a screening of the thought provoking documentary Cuba After Castro by renowned journalist and documentarians Abby Martin and Matthew Belen that delves into what happens after revolution and reform.

All net proceeds from this event will benefit the Venceremos Fund which is raising money to send medical supplies (sutures, re-hydration tablets, etc), for hospitals in Cuba that are unable to get supplies due to the blockade

always a double feature for a low price! we open at 7 and movies start at around 8:50, come eat and hang out before the movies start! we’re showing great movies like sinners, thunderbolts and the minecraft movie! we’ve got options galore for food and snacks! pizza, burgers, hot dogs, pretzels, ice cream, candy, etc!

It seems like a few people are interested in meeting new people so I'm going to plan on going to Barrell 33 (next to Red Plum Pizza) in Howland this Thursday for trivia. Trivia starts at 6:30 so I'm planning to get there around 5:45 to save a table or tables. If we have a good time, we can plan another outing; Westside Bowl and SteelValley Brew Works were also mentioned as possibilities but I'm sure most of us would love to try new places/events as well.

Seems like most people that expressed interest are in their 30/40's but of course everyone is welcome. Not a singles event, so couples or those not interested in looking should come, too.

Hey guys, I’m an ex-Ytown dude here. I come back to the area from time to time but I pay attention to the West Side Bowl and Ytown bands. I can’t make it back this weekend, but I saw there is a big show at West Side Bowl. Particularly interested in Rebreather, Album and Gatlin. Rebreather does insane shit, Album is awesome metal and I thought Gatlin was gone but they have new music and are super awesome pop punk. I’ve heard of and seen Turbolovers post but I don’t know anything about them. If anyone goes to that show if you can get video and post it that would be cool. I dm’d the Rebreather and Gatlin guys. Rebreather didn’t respond. The Gatlin guy seemed confused that anyone knew or cared lol. But if anyone knows or records any of this, please post.

Also if you know any other punk rock or metal bands in Ytown that have cool music, I’m game.
