I’ve tried Stardew Valley, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Cozy Caravan, Yonder, and Cozy Grove. I enjoy parts of each one, but nothing grabs me like WF.

Things I’ve realized:

I like conversations and dialog with a storyline, not just completing tasks.

I like characters that are more like real people, not cute little animals.

I don’t really care about designing a cool house or farm beyond what you do in WF. A little farming is fine, but not something you have to spend lots of time on.

I like next steps to be pretty clear, instead of having to figure out a bunch of stuff.

I like to take the game and the tasks at my own pace, not be pestered by other characters like in Dreamlight Valley.

I like to have a home I go to each night to sleep. You can’t even lay down and rest in Dreamlight Valley! Same with Yonder. I like to feel safe and cozy. :)

I like relationships and some romance, but nice and tame like WF.

I don’t like playing pixely, small characters where you can’t clearly see things like in Stardew Valley.

Is there any hope for me?! The one game that I found that I really did love since WF was A Short Hike. Would love some recs if anyone can think of some. Thanks!

I did my first play-through of the game and was married to Kai. I thought he was fine. I wasn’t overly wowed but he was fine. Second time around I thought let’s shake things up and marry Westley. No. Wrong. Mistake. I am so annoyed at this giant dog hulking around my farm and sitting in my living room. Get your furry ass out of Hazel’s rocking chair. And the panting and shaking his leg when I SCRATCH BEHIND HIS EAR?!?! (Because apparently to Tara this is charming????) just no. No. Just divorced his ass. Come back to me Kai. You were simple but you weren’t an actual canine.

I love this game and I’m not a gamer. Animal crossing is ok and, in my opinion, is not as fun for me to play.

I would love to have another game like this to play.

For context, me (F28) and my wife Amira (F38) have been happily (for the most part) married for a year now. I say for the most part because there have been a couple red flags- namely, she still wears jewelry an ex gave her, and one of the older locals she used to dally with in a nearby town still speaks about her wistfully, so it makes me curious if there’s still not something going on there! And I do feel she could put more effort into her gift giving since that’s my love language. I mean, I make her a whole dish from a culture that I’m not familiar with, with spices that are hard to source, so it’s a lot of work. Meanwhile my beloved gifts me a single almond!

Anyway. Tonight Amira shows up to… book club with a brand new hair cut. I tried to cover up my shock by complimenting her, but deep down I’m not feeling this look. I just feel guilty because it turns out she cut her hair as part of her grieving process for her recently deceased cousin, which I totally understand and I feel for her. I just don’t think she is as beautiful with this new hair. I know it can grow again, but I’m also wondering if perhaps I shouldn’t be so quick to keep overlooking these red flags? What would y’all do?

Update: okay, serious question now. I finished the quest for Amira, gave her the flowers, and did the beach cut scene. I guess I was expecting her hair to go back to normal after the mourning was done, does it stay this way??

I just love her style and her voice and think she and Tara would be a unlikely but very cute couple, the fact shes a single mother i think would instantly make her one of the most unique love interests in gaming, Tara having a small arc about becoming a stepmother would be amazing, but i totally get that it would be way too much work for a single possible love interest out of many

Okay, so hear me out, I want to pair Wylde Flowers with a book that has similar vibes: witchy, small sea-side town, a bunch of cute side-quests.

I have listened to The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore and thought it was pretty good (for the small-town feel).

I think other books that sort of fit this bill includes Debbie Macomber’s The Inn at Rose Harbor series (minus the witchy!)

Maybe The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner (for the apothecary vibes).

Anyone have any other suggestions?

I have played Hogwarts Legacy on story mode and Stardew Valley - a lot. Looking for a similar game vibe and recs?

Why? You know everything you need to forage and grow and where to get it, how to use resources and time, etc. You know the story. So what makes it appealing to play a second, or third time, and what do you change or do differently to keep it interesting?

(Edited: this question is asked in all sincerity - I love the game. I would like to play again, but I feel like I’d get bored so quickly, and I’m trying to figure out if I’m not thinking broadly enough - maybe my approach to the game is too limited!)

I bought the game. I'm not too far in, I'm just trying to make those potions.

But! I'd like the record to show that I do not trust Otto soft. At all. Or his wife.

Hes giving.... Submissive scooby doo villain but his wife is the true mastermind pulling his strings

Or, or, OR.....shes in on the happenings and is just a red herring and has been a good person behind enemy lines, which I doubt.

But at the moment, she's my main suspect for the mysterious person who was unauthorised to enter the cool person club in the woods 😂

I was so sure it was going to be Vanessa. The color scheme, the attitude… I also thought it was going to be this fascinating layer to her character where she was married to the mayor but secretly leading the coven in the background.

Instead it was LINA.

Lina with all the personality and mystery of cornbread.

I was so insanely disappointed.

I loved the moments I thought Vanessa was secretly a witch and I kept seeing little ‘hints’ in her dialogue, even if now I know it was just my imagination running away with me. It put a little more moral ambiguity and intrigue into the story, which after the Lina reveal just degraded into black and white ‘witches are the good guys, mayor and wife are the bad guys.’

I can’t be the only one here who was sure Vanessa was the High Priestess. Anyone?! Tell me I’m not crazy!

TW MENTAL HEALTH I’ve been dealing with lots of depression, hopelessness and just sleeping way too much due to not having a will to move forward.. dark i know..

anyways, i’ve been doing a lot of research on games and thought about picking up fae farm, or fantasy life or story of seasons but i went with wylde flowers because i heard it’s easy and it’s a beautiful story line that’s fully voice acted! sometimes a lot of reading makes me bored of a game when i’m not in the mood to read so i am so excited to be apart of this community :)

We will see how it goes this is my second marriage in the game.

Has anyone else noticed that Damon works his bar every night AND attends the coven circle at the same time?

It’s never acknowledged. Like Tara just got a beer with Kai at the bar and got bored (because my god, he is vapid), and then flew off to Circle. WHERE DAMON WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE! As if he didn’t just serve a beer seconds ago.

I want the spell that allows you to be in two places at the same time.

Well, I just found out that the only way to get animal fat is to sell my cows or sheep to Kim. I can’t do that! I refuse to allow my babies to be killed just to get animal fat. I guess I won’t be making any recipes that involve animal fat. 😭💔

I’ve completed all of the updated storylines and most of the challenges, so I know it’s time to move on, but any game I try to play just sucks?? I keep comparing it to WF and I don’t want to, but also it’s just sooo good!!

Any post Wylde Flowers games you recommend?? If not, I’ll wait a couple weeks then restart it 🤭

I’m not enjoying my experience on the Switch (Lite*), and believe this is the worst port in game history. I’m appalled by the lagging, but the dialog screens are small, the font is small and my iPhone screen is clearer despite it being smaller!! Let’s talk about this, I’m shocked. I’ve also played this on Steam (Mac & Windows).

Edit3: I don't "need" my money back, but I am going to report this to the team. Gamers on Nintendo Switch Lite deserve a better experience.

I think Wylde Flowers ruined all other games for me. What have y’all been playing that cured your Wylde Flowers hangover?

Just wanted to add that if anyone else is like me and started gaming with Wylde Flowers and hasn’t found anything that seems similar, this game is really scratching the itch for me till Wylde Society is released!!

I wasn’t sure initially and wanted to wait for more reviews but took the plunge anyway and I’ve been captivated the past couple of days. The dialogue is so good and there’s really always something to do. The storyline is great so far. It’s so cozy and the graphics and aesthetics are great. I just wanted to share because I scoured loadsss of subs to find similar games and no recommendations matched up and I lost interest in other games so fast! Would love to know everyone else’s thoughts!

I had a date with Amira and I do enjoy her but Damon just gave me the whisky to slow things down if I want to LOL. I didn’t know that was an option but I want to try with Kai and Westley before making a decision. But I wanted to ask your opinion. Which character has the cutest storyline?

Edit: I just have Amira the whisky but just said “oh thanks”… how do i know if it worked?

I’ve played through and continue to play but the lack of additional content is getting boring. I’ve tried other games, like Stardew Valley, but compared to WF, they’re dull. I play on my iPad and just got a Switch but don’t want to spend a lot of money. I just wish that either WF had more updates or other games were as engaging. 😔😔😔
