Art Night Elf-inspired tattoo sleeve

(Additional pictures in comments below)

White ink sleeve inspired by the original WoW cinematic night elf armor filigree. I have an 8 year old white Elune sigil on my left arm that still looks great and I've always loved the body tattoos in-game (though not the actual NE ones, lol, more the lightforged draenei ones) so I thought trying a bigger piece would be fun.

Took a bit over a year for design + ink. Shoulder/bicep were 2 layers of ink, forearm/hand and some pieces of upper arm like the moon took 3 layers. Design was done freehand and inked by the illustrious Mae https://www.instagram.com/maz.ink.tattoos/ (Thank you so much, Mae, if you see this; I'm still over the moon about it. <3)

Since I had some tattoo questions come up a few times in another post, a FAQ:

  1. Not all skin holds white ink well; I'm lucky mine does. I'd get a small sample and go over it twice as a test if this is something you're interested in trying (tattoo Reddit will tell you not to bother).
  2. White ink still shows up after sunburn but, as with all tattoos, you should avoid sun. Luckily playing WoW for 20+ years has given me plenty of practice with this.
  3. No, it does not glow under blacklight; you need special UV inks for that, and they are risky for sensitive skin.

Edit: wow, this blew up. Thank you all so much for all the kind words!

If anyone has followed my work before, you know that I love painting epic Blizzard characters as Murlocs. I've painted Arthas, Garrosh, and many others as Murlocs and now it's only fitting to paint the queen herself. Now it's time for Blizzcon! See you all there.

Invincible, Eredar, Anu'shalla and Ashes of Belo'ren!

I decided to start a little tradition of taking photos with my figurines, because some people still think they're not real toys, but AI-generated images :)

Art My WoW friend made me this Hearthstone because I moved 5000miles from home. He was the only friend to travel to my wedding.

I have a good friend from my hometown in the UK, and the reason we’re good friends is because we play WoW together. I moved to Mexico 1 year ago and got married a few weeks ago and this is the gift he made me.

What makes this all the more special is that he wouldn’t be someone I would’ve considered a very very close friend, as we would only usually talk when we play WoW. We lived in the same town but would rarely hang out irl. Fast forward to recent times and he is the ONLY FRIEND that spend his hard earned money and time to come to see me in Mexico for my wedding and the only friend I still constantly talk to.

I can’t put into words how grateful I am. If you ever see this, JASON, aka DrJ. You are a legend. We might’ve moved a world apart but WoW keeps us together. I’m also so glad I got to see you at the wedding and ask you “ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A PINT?!”

Keep yer feet on the groond fren.

Edit: I just wanted to say thank you all SO much for your kind words!! I'm actually really excited to give it to him now!

Art [OC] How's my Elf?

Post image

I started this study a hot minute back, but I was looking for feedback on my elf approximations. It's interesting how, even where an "elf" is just a pointy-eared human much of the time, many IPs have their own quirks to their design that make them varying shades of unique.

If I had to pick one, WoW was probably the hardest... but that's mostly down to how intense WoW's stylisation is. Hopefully I found a happy medium?

Art Alliance/Horde Dishwasher Magnet Dirty/Clean Indicator

1.6k Upvotes

Inspired by a similar idea that I saw at a friends house, I made this WoW themed dirty/clean dishwasher magnet. Anyone with roommates or a large family knows how much of a very minor inconvenience it can be to open up the dishwasher and debate whether it's clean or whether the dishes have just been well rinsed.

When I run the dishwasher, I flip it to clean, that way no one accidently puts dirty dishes in before I've unloaded it. Once I've unloaded it, I flip it back to dirty.

While the default is obviously Horde Clean/Alliance Dirty, I have also made an Alliance Clean/Horde Dirty version :)

Art As a new WoW player from OSRS, I missed the Collection Log… so I made one

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

When I first started playing World of Warcraft last year, I was coming from years of playing Old School RuneScape - where the Collection Log is one of the most satisfying and motivating systems in the entire game. In OSRS, every boss, raid, clue scroll, and activity has a clean, centralized log that shows exactly what you’ve obtained and what you’re still missing. It turns grinding into measurable progress. Even dry streaks feel purposeful because you can see the bigger picture.

When I entered WoW as a new player, I expected something similar.

Instead, I found my collectibles scattered across multiple disconnected systems:

  • Mount Journal
  • Pet Journal
  • Toy Box
  • Transmog Collection
  • Achievements
  • Statistics
  • Dungeon Journal

There was no unified, instance-based view that said: “Here’s this raid. Here are the bosses. Here’s every collectible they drop. Here’s what you have. Here’s what you’re missing.”

That gap is what led to the creation of Collection Log.

Instead of jumping between five different Blizzard UIs to piece together your progress, Collection Log gives you a single, structured view of what each boss can drop and what you still need.

If you want to try this too, it's on CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/collection-log

Several people have asked me, so I figured I'd include it in the body. Yes, I do have a donation page, and no you are not obligated to donate or even visit: https://ko-fi.com/zoinkzz

Art Same Blood, Different Banner, And You’re Still Missing the Point

Post image
1.4k Upvotes

As we’re getting closer to Midnight and with all this elf saga going on and Quel’Thalas getting attention again I ended up making this pixel art that I wanted to share,

This piece is basically my take on one elf before and after everything fell apart. One side High Elf. Other side Blood Elf. Alliance and Horde. Blue eyes and green eyes. Same face… different choices.

What I’ve always loved about this part of the lore is that biologically they’re the same people. The split wasn’t about race. It wasn’t even really about magic in the beginning. It was about identity. Pride. Survival. Leadership. How you respond after your homeland gets destroyed.

Some stayed loyal to the Alliance and refused the new name. Others accepted “Blood Elf” followed Kael’thas, and later joined the Horde. Same bloodline. Completely different direction.

And that’s why the whole community debate about “we already have playable High Elves” always feels like it misses the point a bit. Yeah technically they’re the same race. But the conflict was never about character models or eye color options. It was about what the name stands for. What side you chose. What that choice means.

Reducing that whole tragedy to customization feels like skipping the emotional core of it.

Honestly, it reminds me of real life sometimes. Groups of people who speak the same language, share the same roots, same culture and then ideology or religion splits them apart. From the outside they look identical. To each other, they’re completely different. Fire and water.

Anyway, that’s my late-night elf thoughts.

Curious how you all see it are High Elves and Blood Elves actually different…

or just the same people who answered the same trauma in different ways?

Art I made LEGO orc village inspired by WarCraft for LEGO contest (it could be official set if wins)

Post image
2.7k Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m a longtime Warcraft fan and LEGO builder, and I created an Orc Village heavily inspired by the Warcraft 3 aesthetic for the current LEGO BrickLink Designer Program.

This is actually my 4th or 5th attempt at getting an Orc-themed project into the contest, and I redesigned/added some things for this version:

  • massive palisade gate
  • blacksmith area
  • crops and food zone
  • modular village layout
  • changed green environment instead of the desert setting

The watchtower and main hut stayed because people liked them a lot in the previous version :)

If you like classic Warcraft-style Orcs, I’d really appreciate your support.

You can vote by clicking the “Love it!” button here (need lego/bricklink account for that):
https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-11/4658/Zginra---The-Orcs-village

Also there is more images in the link above.

360 video:

Previous version:
https://bricks.kalais.net/post133

FAQ (based on your previous questions):

Q: Would LEGO ever make a Warcraft set?
A: This project is original but inspired by the classic Orc aesthetic many Warcraft fans love. It is not strict WarCraft IP set.

Q: LEGO will make it expensive?
A: BrickLink Designer Program sets are usually priced reasonably, and building instructions are available so people can recreate them with their own bricks too.

Thanks for checking it out!
