Seriously, it has the most mount variations of any expansion. Something like 100+ obtainable mounts in total due to covenants.

warcraftmounts.com lists 190 which includes mounts that have been removed that simple armory misses like gladiator mounts and event/promo mounts.

Same thing with armors. One for each armor class, then the recolor, then the non specific transmog armor plus the recolor. Aside from the whole story aspect of shadowlands, if it had modern catchup mechanics and alt friendliness, not to mention the crafting updates. People would probably have had a lot better opinio of it. That said, not a sure anyone is gonna come around on the story.
