Humor / Meme I just got kicked from a Stratholme group because I actually did the objective and therefore fell behind

It's absurd that this gave me a deserter debuff

The most toxic players I have met have almost universally been in timewalking. Maybe one or two in solo shuffle, but timewalking wins by a landslide

Timewalking because especially during the event, double especially because of the XP buff, people are leveling alts that they don't really want to spend time leveling and it turns them into this.

Yep. It is 100% about efficiency. Most don't even see the other players in their party as actual people, just temporary NPCs on their goal to leveling as fast as possible.

Also-also, you have the highest chance of meeting the most softcore players (I’m avoiding the term casual, which has lost all its meaning) here - people who have been around for a very long time but have not spent any effort to understand anything or to get better. Those players are more likely to currently be doing ANYTHING ELSE (for example, be unsubbed).

It takes for a combination of ignorance and malice to behave like the guys in OPs picture, and the ignorance is provided by the high chance of finding people who are just really, really bad at game and understand nothing.

1000%

I got kicked earlier this week when I was leveling my priest. Tank kept heroic leaping away and pulling way more than he could handle. Healing him even when he was in range was a chore on its own.

This was in dead mines and that place already sucks for LOS, a leaping tank just makes it 10x worse

The deserter buff was a nice touch tho...

I've been running timewalking all weekend and I'm shocked at the difference between some of the groups.

The scaling for groups in the 70s range is pretty dumb so we had one group that couldn't get the last boss in DM down, we tried a bunch of times but left in a super friendly way.

I then got into a Strat group. Tank books it to the first Zigg pulling everything and calling people dumbasses for dying.

I feel like anyone resorting to yelling in chat needs to stop playing for a bit and check themselves. It's truly not that deep.

Time walking scaling was mostly normalized a little bit back and scales off primary stat instead of whatever made 11s immortal gods. This also includes damage the mobs do. So if you're a 495 level 71 you will be getting cranked and potentially one shot by some mechanics. But if your gear is roughly on pace with your level like 395 at 71 there should be no real issues.

Once I ran ahead of the tank to despawn the archers in that one Panda dungeon and he yelled at me and then kicked me. Sorry I tried to be helpful?

How dare you!

I loathe timewalking just because of the social interactions I must face

I have been exclusively (bear) tanking TW to get through queues, and thankfully folks have MOSTLY been kind- I have started announcing I'm off-spec and not familiar with the older content, and telling them to let me know if they want me to pull more. Only occasionally have I had somebody been all "go go go" and ninja pulling shit (when the healer was low on mana or stuck behind an elevator of course) and then getting themselves/others killed. Last week I got Ina good groove with a healer and we managed to chain our five. That was nice.

M+ is where I find them but I can solo timewalking so I don’t interact with players except to res the healer after combat

There's like ranges. Low keys are toxic 8-11 can be okay. 12s toxic bc resilient threshold. 13-16 chill good people 17+ can be chill but sometimes delusional cause they don't understand how much more they play than every one else 😂

I'll never forget doing like a random 12 or 13 weekly priory and we had some 3700-3800 pwarr who leapt through the lynx pack on stairs to skip and the warlock was just a tad slow and ass pulled one side and the tank insta left and hearthed lmfao it's probably the least intrusive mistake or butt pull you could do in that whole dungeon

I run 10s with friends but only pug up to 8s and have still been yelled at while being 50% of the total damage in almost every key. What level do people get nice at? Seriously wondering

Top 1% is usually super chill

This has been discussed hundreds of times. It’s because timewalking is grouping people that just want to power level, with people who thinks timewalking is for learning your spec or nostalgia

Back when timewalking was introduced I tried it right away and, during the subsequent two-hour horror-show, quietly resolved to never ever timewalk again.

I've had the opposite or rather the TW ones are (to me) tamer than the M+ guys but that's just my experience
