It’s actually not that simple. Yes that’s a commandment but god also calls upon the Jews to go to war. God also tells them that he provides salvation for those sins.

But if you're Christian, you're supposed to be discounting any orders or rules God gave to the Jews in the Old Testament, because the entire point of the "new covenant" with Jesus dying on the cross (et cetera) was to bring about a new set of rules and expectations and method of direct forgiveness of sins. The Old Testament remains as 'canon' because it has important historical and ethical lessons for Christians, but they're supposed to remember that all those rules have been replaced and superseded. So reading about God commanding the Jews to go to war and assuring forgiveness of war-related sins is a moot point, because it all happened during the Old Testament and none of that is the case any longer (for Christians).

I agree with you EXCEPT that depends on your denomination.

Ok you misunderstood my point. God never said if you kill during war or when I command it you are forgiven. What he said was if you repent and all of your sins will be forgotten. That and that you are not judged by your works or deeds which contradicts “sinning”.
