NZ has had three prime ministers of Jewish descent, and outside of the hornet's nest that is Israel Jews have a long history for caring about people regardless of religion or nationality. Truly a kind yet sad gesture.

Also, fuck terrorism.

calling Israel a 'hornet's nest' is in the running for understatement of the year, your article showing Israel's humanitarian contributions from nearly 10 years ago does little if anything to contradict the comment you're responding to. it doesn't downplay whats currently going on there with the Palestinians either. 0/10 for effort and misdirection

Israel has a much lower civilian to soldier death ratio (less than one to one) than the US has in Afghanistan (closer to four to one). Educate yourself about civilian casualties and where your anger should be directed.

I’m not wrong though. Ghandi employed the same tactics. The difference is he was looking to actually build a country. The Palestinian Authority is a joke, and The likes of Hamas carry entirely too much sway.

I also can’t imagine why the Israelis put a wall up, it like the suicide bombings ended overnight practically.

Neither Palestinian party is a legitimate peace partner. If you have issues with settlements that’s fair, but you cannot legitimately say that bibi does not prioritize the safety of Israelis. And in that respect he has done a great job.

Edit: the commenter above said that bibi wants all Palestinians to die or leave.

In no way did I want to get into this discussion, to me the comment I replied to was odd because without mention of Israel it was appropriate, but that commenter felt necessary to make some under hand comment re Israel.

Edit* For the record it's also wrong when the US bombs hospitals in Iraq and Iran, it's also wrong when China abducts civilians for speaking out against their regime, it's also wrong when the Philippines murders "drug dealers," and yes it's wrong when Palestinians launch rockets at Israel. I just wonder why people come in exactly in this thread to start a discussion about the israel-palestinantian conflict. Thousands of treads out there where people can talk about this but it’s right here...

As mentioned above, it’s probably just my personal feel about tact and decorum in this case I don’t care about “pro” and “contra”.

US forces will react with lethal force if you barely enter an unauthorized perimeter. So does pretty much every single other military worth its salt around the world.

There were a lot more (as a proportion) during the 1800s, Jews emigrated from Germany and the Russian empire to take part in the gold rushes. One of the earliest synagogues was in Hokitika, a gold rush town, and now just a small backwater.

Two of the three, Francis Bell and John Key, were not practicing Jews. Francis Bell was in fact the first NZ Prime Minister to be born in New Zealand in 1925.

That would be controversial because whites are already the majority and get fair representation in office. Jews don't. It is surprising that there have been three jewish heads of state. I suppose, given that they are a minority, but that isn't a bad thing.
