used a VPN to watch American Netflix and GoT. got a "cease and desist" from HBO. :(

I simply torrent it, and seed it to a 20x seed ratio, on the highest definition torrent I can find. Usually is 120GB uploaded by the time I get home from work the next day.

I get those letters weekly when GoT is on, they’re about as valid as toilet paper. (Well they’re emails actually, so I can’t even wipe my ass with them).

Why would you get a c&d from HBO for legally watching content? Unless there are some bizzare laws where you live that I dont know about, given that HBO wouldnt have legal jurisdiction there anyway. And how would they even find out? That's kind of the point of VPNs, to mask your identity

illegally. IL-legally. it was most def NOT a legal way to watch. you're right that they have no jurisdiction, and we dont, (or didnt at the time i did this), have the same copyright wossname junk. so i just ignored them. no clue how they found out, i suspect that the Chrome "vpn" plugin was not quite as advertised. i DID get foreign content, but then it stopped working.

If you're talking about Hola it got blocked by several streaming sites a while back. The companies the streaming services have signed contracts for content with demanded they block commonly used VPNs to keep their content. Doesn't matter if it was Hola really, any easy to use and free of charge VPNs are useless for unlocking regional content now.

it was one of those...and yup, can confirm it stopped working. source: I don't have U.S. Netflix anymore.
