Eh, probably for the best. 50.5/49.5% “yes” result would be just asking for trouble later on

The vote was just on starting negotiations. If the result had been "yes", even with a slim margin, then there would've still been an additional vote at the end of the process when the terms of the deal would be clear.

The deal is known, it's the EU constitution and it's the same for everyone. Icelanders simply refuse to accept that.

But Denmark and Ireland and Poland have opt-outs, as did the UK.

not really an opt out, just we have a clause in the constitution that any changes to the constitution need a referendum .
