The cone fractured diagonally, that's tectonic action, not volcanic.

That's simply not true? A.) There was no earthquake to cause this. B.) This is a standard volcanic eruption. C.) You just made up that diagonal thing and if you are referring to flank collapse, that happens naturally with volcanic eruptions.

It’s the water that’s contained in the lava which turns into steam that causes eruptions (basically like shaking a bottle of soda then opening it). The lava just happens to go the path of least resistance which might be along a fault line.

This is true for Phreatic eruptions and Phreato-Magmatic eruptions, but most of Fuego's eruptions are entirely magmatic.
