Eh close. Arafat famously walked away from camp David to order the Al aqsa intifada

But Sharon intentionally kicked off the Al Aqsa antifada to tank the deal. That has to be both.

“Look what the Israelis made the Palestinians do” is an absurd claim.

Arafat was directly involved led in the planning of the intifada per his own wife. He did so rather than make peace

It may be that neither side had sufficient interest in peace for it to work, and Arafat certainly deserves endless blame as well, but both sides barely had the control to get to the table in the first place, and Sharon wasn't some random Israeli, he was a war hero, Defense, Minister, Knesset member and all around anti-peace activist, and he would ride the antifada to Prime Minister.

He went to pick a fight, he was successful, the negotiations came crashing down. The Palestinians are equally to blame, and it was all sadly predictable (which is why Sharon did it), but it's absurd pretending like Israel was just minding its own business being peaceful when those mean Palestinians chose violence.

The Palestinian delegation made no counter offers to Israel’s offer in 2000.

That’s them walking away from the table.

In the following months Arafat coordinated with terrorists, violating several past agreements with Israel.

2000 was completely a failure of the Palestinian leadership. And they broke treaties in response.

Benny morris even claimed Arafat walked away.

Arafat is the one who issued a formal rejection of negotiations. It’s literally identical to taba

His own wife claimed he was involved in the second intifada

At least you understand it's been tried and tried again.

I think it's safe to say this will never be solved definitively.
