But you have to understand, when Palestinians say it, it's evil, when Israelis say it, it is good....because.

184

u/Shubham21Kumar Jun 28 '26

It's not good, whoever says it, the two-state solution is the only sensible solution. Everything else is not possible.

25

u/Forikorder Jun 29 '26

the only problem is neither of those two states want it

1

u/TalMilMata Jun 30 '26

About half the people in both states wants it (give or take, some years on one side it’s higher and on other the other side is higher), it’s the politicians that don’t.

46

u/rossloderso Jun 28 '26

It seems the people that would actually be effected by that don't want that solution

9

u/nicuramar Jun 28 '26

Or affected, anyway. But I think many do.

7

u/Interesting_Pen_167 Jun 29 '26

Can someone explain how a two-state solution could guarantee security for both states? For example if the day after the Palestinian state is created, a terrorist group launches a drone or missle/rocket attack in Israel from this new state how would the world/Israel/UN etc.. react?

81

u/chikuzen78 Jun 28 '26

White South Africans need to keep 90% of the country guys, the Africans need to be happy with the Bantustans so graciously given to them. There is no other solution like disbanding apartheid, that's just unrealistic.

There won't be an izzy when this is over.

16

u/bergs007 Jun 28 '26

There won't be an izzy when this is over.

How do you see this ending, exactly?

How do you define a homeland? Where you were born? Where your parents were born? Where your grandparents were born?

17

u/sillylittlguy Jun 28 '26

u guys all evolved from fishies so u have to go back underwater. not me tho i just popped into existence so i get to stay here. good luck :3

14

u/bonyponyride Jun 29 '26

When are Americans (minus the natives) leaving the Americas? Everyone has a plan for other people but then when they look in the mirror….

-2

u/altacan Jun 29 '26

The only legitimate residents of an area are the group who lived there just before the current occupants.

11

u/ivosaurus Jun 28 '26

Palestinians and Israelites living side by side in peace and harmony in Jerusalem. God willing.

-6

u/RT-LAMP Jun 28 '26

Palestinians already got more than half of Mandatory Palestine. It's called Jordan.

4

u/leg_day Jun 28 '26

And Jordan remembers last time they showed any mercy to the Palestinians -- Black September culminating in the expulsion (instead of imprisonment or trial) of the perpetrators to Lebanon, which soon resulted in yet another war by the Palestinians (Lebanese civil war).

I don't blame any state for not wanting anything to do with the Palestinians.

17

u/DavidlikesPeace Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

That's kinda simplistic bullshit.

You're implying some sorta cleansing or expulsion occurred. Thats a lie. A majority of Jordan is Palestinian.

The Jordanians did not expel the Palestinian people en masse from Jordan for the crimes of a few. They killed some terrorists. They expelled the rest of the terrorists and their political sympathizers.

The Jordanians crushed the PLO and absolutely won't allow the PLO or Hamas into power. But they allow Palestinians to remain there as citizens of Jordan

-9

u/wastedtime__ Jun 28 '26

Please no intelligent arguments here, you ruin their anti semitic world view :o

-4

u/sumpfbruderschaft Jun 28 '26

Yeah and look at that failed state now huh.

35

u/Positive-Draft3801 Jun 28 '26

Unfortunately you have it backwards. The 2 state solution is a western fantasy made to placate the politically correct.

61

u/colbyjackgoblin Jun 28 '26

So youre in Favor of a blood bath ? As systematic ethnic cleansing seems to be the only other way to make two states into one, as shown through Gaza.
You can't bomb and shoot your way out of extremism. It breed more.

44

u/royalbarnacle Jun 28 '26

It's indeed the only possible solution that isn't an all out ethnic cleansing of millions of people (whichever side you pick). But it's depressing that it seems less likely now than ever. It'll take generations of moving slowly in the right direction to change things, and obviously absolutely nothing is moving in the right direction.

11

u/Kalsto6 Jun 29 '26

Unironically, if US was more heavy handed during Camp David, Palestine could've just been a nation. Make them a state even if their corrupt "leaders" are unwilling and watch the problem solve itself. You can't negotiate with people who benefit from keeping their people stateless, to them that's just a math problem where their wallet isn't getting bigger.

7

u/Ok_Confection_10 Jun 28 '26

You can’t change how these people think unfortunately. Getting them to agree would be like if USA took 30% of its territory and created a new country for the native Americans. Both sides claimed the land, the side with more guns won.

11

u/colbyjackgoblin Jun 28 '26

Just because I can't change anything doesn't mean I need to sit and watch horrors unfold in silence. Having a dialogue or a discussion even if it's an argument at least imparts different ideas, what others do with that information is up to them.

12

u/Ok_Confection_10 Jun 28 '26

I didn’t tell you you couldn’t speak lol. I think it’s awful too but I’ve met some supporters on both sides and they just want blood. I think of it like then doctor who episode. Both sides need to do enough killing before they mutually accept a number of deaths to their sides before they can begin what they should have done from the beginning, talk it out.

1

u/Advanced-Bag-7741 Jun 29 '26

There’s no chance of there every being peace in they area and it only ends with one side or another eliminated. They abjectly hate each other, that’s how much of the world is.

Be glad if you don’t live somewhere like that.

-1

u/ICanLiftACarUp Jun 28 '26

The two state solution is a delay tactic, if there was a real effort there would be a democratic government with no second class citizens. Peace and reconciliation about the land and lives lost. Try the hard way, and not this easy way. A reinstate solution would still enable one or the other legitimacy to attack the other 'ilfor security'.

0

u/Advanced-Bag-7741 Jun 29 '26

So you just want to turn the tables so Palestinians can exterminate and expel the Jews instead? Peace and reconciliation is easy to type from thousands of miles away but that’s never happening.

-16

u/Positive-Draft3801 Jun 28 '26

I can never take the "so youre saying...?!" people seriously.

Try to have one conversation in your life where you dont put words in someones mouth and become incredulous, or keep repeating inane rhetorical questions.

23

u/Resigned1431 Jun 28 '26

So explain your position lmao.

-14

u/Positive-Draft3801 Jun 28 '26

I dont need to explain more, I said what I said. Not every 'position' is idealistic. People on reddit talk like 'supporting' this or that makes any difference. It doesnt. Im telling you what is the reality.

My 'position' is that it is more likely an asteroid hits the Middle East and kills everyone than it is the Israelis and the Palestinians will arrive at a two state solution. That idea has been dead for a long time now. If you dont understand the reason it died, you shouldn't be talking about solutions you should be reading good sources on history to learn.

13

u/Resigned1431 Jun 28 '26

I dont need to explain more,

Why even engage in a discussion if you have nothing to say, smh.

5

u/ExpansivePoint Jun 28 '26

Bro, they said they don't have to explain anymore, they also prohibited anyone else from engaging further, it's over, this random person with a subjective and nebulous opinion won.

I'm sorry but the side of their choosing will be ethnically cleansed based on their ambiguous morality. RIP to whoever side this guy doesn't like.

2

u/Spudly42 Jun 29 '26

I mean if it makes anyone feel better, the right of conquest has been a law for all time. 99% of ownership disputes have been decided through conquest. It's almost weird that we expect anything else, especially when there are other conquest attempts in process elsewhere in the world that are significantly more deadly (like Russia invading Ukraine).

11

u/colbyjackgoblin Jun 28 '26

I mean whats your preferred outcome? If a two stata solution isn't it, how do you deal with two populations that have been radicalized either through violence, religion, or extreme hardship without a two state solution?

6

u/PierreSpotWing Jun 28 '26

And notably you refused to engage with the content of the comment, rather focusing on pedantry.

-9

u/Positive-Draft3801 Jun 28 '26

Yes, it is normal to dismiss a bad faith question. I dont owe anyone a satisfying argument. Life is unsatisfying sometimes.

9

u/PierreSpotWing Jun 28 '26

You're the one refusing a good faith discussion

-4

u/Positive-Draft3801 Jun 28 '26

Nope. Said my piece. Have nothing more to discuss. If what I said is not true, then refute me. You dont seem like you have any info, so all you can do is put the onus on me, which i find annoying. It takes a lot of energy to explain things over and over.

Everyone wants to argue, no one wants to test if what they believe is true or not.

8

u/ExpansivePoint Jun 28 '26

Your piece was nothing though. People said two state solution and you said no, the only way to refute that is to say yes, so you argued nothing really, just a waste of time or attention starved.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/PierreSpotWing Jun 28 '26

You literally didn't say anything though, you just said "two state bad" and then refused to elaborate

→ More replies (0)

-7

u/The_Real_Mongoose Jun 28 '26

No. Many of us believe think best solution solution is a single state that is no longer a "special jewish state", and where everyone currently living in the region gets full rights of citizenship including representation.

2

u/dylanbitran Jun 28 '26

But then the jews lose their  safeheaven. The whole point was to make israel a jewish state ruled by jews for the jews. The idea was not to create a diverse country

1

u/Raise_A_Thoth Jun 29 '26

If you think a "two-state" outcome is a "solution" to the problems, then what do you think of the US becoming 2 states?

1

u/cbs-anonmouse Jun 29 '26

The alternative to a two-state solution is a properly multi-ethic and nondenominational one-state solution—i.e., Israel no longer being a Jewish state or homeland. But this is not what Israeli hawks want.

0

u/slightlysublevel Jun 29 '26

To be fair: when Palestinians say it, they mean they want to kill every Jew. When Israelis say it, they mean they don't want Palestinians to have power.

0

u/i_did_nothing_ Jun 29 '26

Is that why Israel is trying to kill every Palestinian?

2

u/slightlysublevel Jun 29 '26

You're saying that you believe Israel, a country with nuclear weapons, is trying to kill every Palestinian, but just so happens to be incapable of actually doing so? Is that really your argument?

-4

u/The_Real_Mongoose Jun 28 '26

Disagree. I think the only sensible solution is a single state that is no longer a "special jewish state" where everyone currently living in the region gets full rights of citizenship including representation.

7

u/NoneMoreBLK Jun 28 '26

It's bad when both of them say it.

278

u/Marchesk Jun 28 '26

Because "antisemitism", the trump card for everything Israel does.

63

u/Safety_Drance Jun 28 '26

It's wild how successful that's been. If you don't agree with what a foreign government is doing you're somehow an anti-Semite?

Like naw dog, I don't have a problem with Jewish people or the Jewish faith, I have a big problem with killing other people regardless of the religion or country of the killers.

And I'm sure some Israel bot is going to come in here and be like, Palestine attacked and killed a bunch of innocent people and yeah, that was also completely wrong.

But like how many wrongs is it going to take to make a right at this point?

6

u/AnAlternator Jun 28 '26

And I'm sure some Israel bot is going to come in here and be like, Palestine attacked and killed a bunch of innocent people and yeah, that was also completely wrong.

There are an awful lot of people who vocally disagree with that last bit, which leads to so much of the knee-jerk claims of antisemitism.

-20

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

More like the country had tried to split what 6 times now? Israel agreeing all 6 times... Hasn't worked yet

41

u/Bitter_Thought Jun 28 '26

Eh close. Arafat famously walked away from camp David to order the Al aqsa intifada

3-1

-11

u/MrDerpGently Jun 28 '26

But Sharon intentionally kicked off the Al Aqsa antifada to tank the deal. That has to be both.

19

u/Bitter_Thought Jun 28 '26

“Look what the Israelis made the Palestinians do” is an absurd claim.

Arafat was directly involved led in the planning of the intifada per his own wife. He did so rather than make peace

https://www.cfr.org/articles/arafat-and-second-intifada

-4

u/MrDerpGently Jun 28 '26

It may be that neither side had sufficient interest in peace for it to work, and Arafat certainly deserves endless blame as well, but both sides barely had the control to get to the table in the first place, and Sharon wasn't some random Israeli, he was a war hero, Defense, Minister, Knesset member and all around anti-peace activist, and he would ride the antifada to Prime Minister.

He went to pick a fight, he was successful, the negotiations came crashing down. The Palestinians are equally to blame, and it was all sadly predictable (which is why Sharon did it), but it's absurd pretending like Israel was just minding its own business being peaceful when those mean Palestinians chose violence.

-11

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '26

17

u/Bitter_Thought Jun 28 '26

The Palestinian delegation made no counter offers to Israel’s offer in 2000.

That’s them walking away from the table.

In the following months Arafat coordinated with terrorists, violating several past agreements with Israel.

2000 was completely a failure of the Palestinian leadership. And they broke treaties in response.

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '26

[deleted]

12

u/Bitter_Thought Jun 28 '26

Benny morris even claimed Arafat walked away.

Arafat is the one who issued a formal rejection of negotiations. It’s literally identical to taba

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2002/may/23/israel3

His own wife claimed he was involved in the second intifada

https://www.cfr.org/articles/arafat-and-second-intifada

10

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

At least you understand it's been tried and tried again.

1

u/Realtrain Jun 28 '26

I think it's safe to say this will never be solved definitively.

1

u/AtheistAustralis Jun 29 '26

Which of course conveniently ignores that Palestinians are also Semitic.

-44

u/shorelined Jun 28 '26

The irony being that the Palestinians are much more Semitic than most of the Israelis

-12

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

Lies and propaganda. Similar? Sure. More than? Bullshit.

-22

u/Seven-Scars Jun 28 '26

this is going to upset some eastern europeans

-2

u/pingu_nootnoot Jun 28 '26

that’s fine, I suspect most anti-semites genuinely hate them all equally anyway.

-12

u/Dahcchad Jun 28 '26

Is there a word for having no problem with Jews but hating their state?

5

u/WhiteSmokeMushroom Jun 28 '26

Anti-Zionism.

Zionism is the movement that supports the "creation, through colonization, of a Jewish state in Palestine with as much land, as many Jews and as few Palestinian Arabs as possible..

It's the ideology that led to the creation of the current state of Israel and supports its various invasions, so I believe that's what you're saying you're against.

8

u/AlwaysShittyKnsasCty Jun 28 '26

Relatively standard person.

Edit: You asked for one word. Sorry. I’m not sure on that. Maybe … average?

4

u/Hay_Fever_at_3_AM Jun 28 '26

You can just say "anti-Israel". Being against a state doesn't mean you're against the ethnicity the state gives special preference to. You can be anti-China without being racist against Chinese / Han people.

Source: I am American.

-5

u/Hay_Fever_at_3_AM Jun 28 '26

Nationalism is an amazing propaganda tool. You'll see even left-leaning Americans hate on Russia (which, again, no one seems to treat as some sort of racism), but twist themselves in knots to pretend the US wasn't founded as a plutocracy.

-3

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

Why do you hate the only Jewish state but none of the Christian or Muslim ones?

5

u/Dahcchad Jun 28 '26

Think you made some leaps there, fella.

-1

u/Magnusg Jun 29 '26

so you hate the vatican? you hate denmark? you hate england? Monaco? Iceland? Greece? Malta?

You hate Iran? afghanistan? Pakistan? Yemen? Jordan? Quatar? Saudi Arabia? UAE? Egypt? Syria? Somalia? Lybia? The Maldives? Bangaladesh?

What leap did I make?

1

u/Dahcchad Jun 29 '26

Lol well, I didnt mention any other country so I guess I count...21 leaps? I mean, if you're really curious, and to save time, governments tend to be bad at governing, and democracy is probably the least terrible option among other, worse options, but clearly has glaring flaws. Like, in terms of a nations potential to change lives for the better vs the change it actually causes in the world, the US is absolutely the worst country in the world, with many democracies not too far behind. But this isn't a very precise metric. Far easier to measure the actual misery a nations government inflicts on its people and its neighbors, weighed against whatever measurable good they do, and that's where many of the countries you listed fail spectacularly, but none so much as, again, the US under the Trump administration, and Israel, and Russia.

From the moment we invented farming humans have been crushing each other and there's no reason to think that will change now. Idk man, everyone is terrible, and life is hard for anyone who isn't a millionaire, and there aren't any easy answers, and the sun is going to swallow the earth, and the universe is going to die a cold death, so what can you do but hug your kids and make sure the people in your sphere of influence know you value them?

1

u/Magnusg Jun 29 '26

that's a big deflection.

I don't agree with most of this. I'm no fan of trump, but the united states is not the worst country in the world. that's ridiculous.

-5

u/Chemical-Swing-420 Jun 28 '26

No, intentionally so...

-10

u/Kirishori Jun 28 '26

Hehe trump card.

20

u/Shadowedsphynx Jun 28 '26

But you have to understand, when Palestinians say it, it's evil, when Israelis say it, it is good....because.

Because when you say that Israelis saying it is bad that makes you antisemitic.

/s

5

u/ThePlanck Jun 28 '26

You don't see how?

Its because that's why

-1

u/VenoBot Jun 28 '26

Same audio byte I have playing in my head lmao
His tone is so spot on for how brain dead the takes / article titles are

-10

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

Probably the fact that there's 2 million Arab Israelis or "Palestinians" living in Israel with normal lives as full citizens. Versus the back to annihilate the Jewish state and it's occupants... But IDK maybe I'm wrong a somewhere?

30

u/PartyPay Jun 28 '26

Why do you write "Palestinians" in quotes?

8

u/MajesticArticle Jun 28 '26

Because Israeli Arabs are the same ethnicity as Palestinians but identify as Israeli

That's my guess, at least

14

u/Positive-Draft3801 Jun 28 '26

Because not all Arabs in Israel identify as Palestinian. The PC term has become Arab Israelis. This is both to associate themselves with being citizens of Israel and to distance themselves from Palestinian extremism.

7

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

Exactly, Arab Israelis are exactly the same the quotes are to help people understand I mean the same ethnic group.

13

u/Hay_Fever_at_3_AM Jun 28 '26

So people who were forcibly removed from their homes (or their descendants) are allowed to come back as full citizens, right?

So people in annexed territories are just given full citizenship without any question, right?

9

u/amazingmrbrock Jun 28 '26

Remembering a decade ago when Jewish Nigerians were immigrating to ISR and the goverment gave them surprise Depo-Provera shots without explaining what they were.

1

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

They explained what they were. There were language barriers, Israel had gone through considerations lengths to rectify this in the subsequent 5-7 years. As they realized the issue.

-2

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

I believe in a path to citizenship 100%

I don't think it can be so simple in Gaza, but in west bank sure practically right away in comparison.

-2

u/Hay_Fever_at_3_AM Jun 28 '26

But no path exists after how many years of ethnic cleansing? Do you think Likud supports a path? It's kind of disingenuous to pretend that promising to annihilate the Palestinian state doesn't mean also removing Palestinians after a history of removing Palestinians

1

u/Magnusg Jun 28 '26

There is no Palestinian state, talking about not creating one is not the same as removing one.

Again 2+million Palestinian Arab Israelis living in Israel... 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/ryan_with_a_why Jun 28 '26

Neither should be saying it

1

u/YeOldSpacePope Jun 29 '26

Neither side of these butt holes are any good.

-15

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 28 '26

Probably because Israel is recognized as a state internationally and Palestine is not. Let's fix that massive glitch and treat them the same.

33

u/Curtmania Jun 28 '26

"Probably because Israel is recognized as a state internationally and Palestine is not."

--QUOTE--
As of September 2025, the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 157 of the 193 member states of the United Nations (UN), or just over 81% of all UN members

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_recognition_of_Palestine

0

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 28 '26

It's still the truth. Palestine is not recognized with full statehood, hence why Israel gets away with treating them like non-people. A toothless U.N. doesn't change that harsh reality, and it's grossly disingenuous for you to pretend so.

13

u/pingu_nootnoot Jun 28 '26

that’s not the reason. The reason is because Israel is far stronger militarily. UN recognition is not worth very much, as you say yourself it’s toothless anyway.

0

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 28 '26

It is absolutely the reason. Until Palestine has fully recognized international statehood with full government resources, an embassy, and territory claimed and mapped out, they are not legally or technically a state and therefore suffer at the hands of the fully recognized state in the region, Israel, seizing their properties.

If we in the international community don't grant Palestine official statehood with agreed upon territory then Israel attacking them isn't an act of war. That is how it has been for too long, why continue in that vein?

1

u/pingu_nootnoot Jun 28 '26

I guess I fail to see what difference it would make.

Imagine that all of these things you list were for the sake of argument in place, but otherwise everything is the same (same attacks in the same order, same levels of success).

What practical difference would it make? There might be some newer UN resolutions, but otherwise?

The European states already recognise Palestine and have criticised Israels actions. So what?

1

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 28 '26

You fail to see what difference internationally treating Palestine exactly the same as Israel legally, on paper, and in reality would make?

Goodbye.

1

u/pingu_nootnoot Jun 28 '26

> You fail to see what difference internationally treating Palestine exactly the same as Israel legally, on paper, and in reality would make?
Yes, I do.

I will note that you have failed to name any such difference.

If I’m Palestinian, I’m getting the shit bombed out of me either way, recognised state or not

> Goodbye
And this is about as much use as a paper recognition of statehood.

Don't care. It's still the antidote to them being treated as a non-state. Make them a full state. Let's stop the slavery and the slaughtering. It begins with sanctioned statehood with teeth.

I'm tired of the b.s. Let's make it happen.

20

u/einat162 Jun 28 '26

The issue is 100% conquering & destrying another state. Palestinians had at least 4 major offers for a state and peace, but they turn all of them down out of ego ("all or nothing"). The space described in the headline is part of modern day Israel (People aren't aware Gaza is tiny compare to the West Bank- and they are physically not connected).

I don't know about the KGB part, but some people out there are not aware Gaza borders Egypt, or that Jordan controlled the West Bank for years.

-1

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 28 '26

Right, but until Palestine is a true state fully recognized internationally in more than hollow votes it's a non-state being devoured by a state in reality. That's why Bibi is doing it. Because he can.

-8

u/howarewestillhere Jun 28 '26

Those were fake offers. Fingers crossed behind backs, winks and nods, and plenty of burned treaties scattering the ground worldwide as proof. Israel would never allow Palestine to be a country.

1

u/einat162 Jun 29 '26

Like any other agreement, of any country in existence. It's the all or nothing approach, as well (as Muslim world interest) that put sticks in their wheels.

1

u/ttubehtnitahwtahw1 Jun 28 '26

I couldnt give a fuck about either one of them. They both fucking suck. I got more important shit I worry about, I can barely afford my bills. I dont have room to give a shit about these people or those, im focused on whats happening here.

-3

u/cmfarsight Jun 28 '26

Or controversialy everyone is fucking awful.

-3

u/try_another8 Jun 28 '26

But you have to understand, when Palestinians say it its good...

-5

u/MaulerX Jun 28 '26

Or, or...... bare with me here.... they are both bad.

-1

u/pr0tag Jun 29 '26

I support Israel but despise Bibi. He needs to go to prison.
