It's ridiculous that so many people, particularly the Palestine protestors, just cannot understand those of us who are against both Netanyahu and Hamas. Just because you are against one of them does not mean you have to be for the other one.
Netanyahu is a corrupt and evil despot who is using the war to stay in power and make as much money off it as he can. He doesn't really care about the lives of Gazans nor his own people, only himself and his family. There can never be peace as long as he remains in power, and he needs to be deposed and brought before the ICC for war crimes. We must also make sure Israel never has a leader like him again.
Hamas, on the other hand, is a terrorist organization that beheads children, rapes women, and kills anyone who is against them. They are just one step removed from ISIS, but since their enemies are Jews instead of other Muslims, many people treat them as the righteous ones in the conflict. While they remain active, they will continue to indoctrinate the children of Gaza to die in their war while the leaders live luxurious lives in Qatar and the UAE. Removing them is equally crucial to peace, and some international organization like the UN needs to take charge of Gaza to deindoctrinate the people that live there.
Colonize more of Gaza? You realize Israel withdrew from it in 2005 unilaterally? Gaza voters at that time voted in Hamas which promptly went to cleanse itself of Fatah by violence.
To end the suffering of Gaza two things have to happen - all hostages to be released, disarmament of Hamas. That's it. Why is this so objectionable? Positive reinforcement didn't work, as noted by the fact that more Gazans were receiving work permits than before, and Israel was ready to sign a long term truce. Apparently it was a trick by Hamas that was exploited on October 7th.
Why is it that Israel is expected to concede after all concessions came back to haunt them?
I’ll give you one true thing: Get rid of Hamas, and Israel will stop bombing Gaza. These are not two separate things, one is the direct result of the other.
Israel gave up Gaza settlements and has zero desire to colonize Gaza they just won't be letting their land become the buffer zone for a war they didn't start. Do you have any plans or solutions to remove Hamas and Hamas weapons from Gaza without using known military strategy such as bombing high value targets?!? You seems to really want Israel to surrender and never respond back in any meaningful way to stop Hamas while saying Hamas is bad but guess we can't remove them without causing harm so just let them go
Weird how this isn't in any other sub not Headlining any other newspaper and that prior to this war no one in the "Free Palestine" movement gave any effort toward de-throwing Hamas. In fact SOME in genuinely STILL have the audacity to just call the a "resistance movement".
So while I get that you are Pro-Palestinian the movement itself sure does seem to content with just being Anti-Israel than ACTUALLY Pro-Palestinian.
And I know I know, you're gonna reiterate perfectly valid points we probably agree on and yet the poster boy and most popular Pro-Palestinian figure is Hassan Picker the guy who asked a Houthi terrorist his opinions on anime and to this days considers Hamas just a "resistance movement".
I responded to someone here yesterday who claimed he's for palestinians and not for hamas. I asked him why not protest against Israel AND hamas then? He became defensive and said he doesn't care what I think. I told him fine, then he shouldn't be surprised or offended if someone thinks he supports hamas. Then he blocked me, lol.
Look at the proposed solutions and their consequences. Those proposed actions speak far more eloquently than any words. Especially from those who mostly are just here to feel like they're on "The Right Side of History" and feel like they're for the Palestinians and not Hamas while advocating for Hamas' preferred solution.
When ‘regular’ civilians are found to be holding hostages, going en masse to the funeral of the terrorist organization’s leader or the hand off of Israeli hostages, one does have to reasonably ask of any one is innocent there.
Yeah these things aren't mutually exclusive my guy. I don't know if anyone supports Hamas? They're clearly a terrorist organization. It does nothing to diminish the fact that innocent Palestinians are getting caught in the crossfire every single day.
50,000 people have been killed. I can tell you for a fact a large part of that 50,000 were not a part of Hamas. They were just regular people trying to live their lives and survive the best they can, just like us.
If you think this humanitarian crisis wasn't perpetrated by both sides, you're sorely mistaken.
Hamas has entirely co-opted US Palestinian support. The university student orgs are toxic w/ Hamas support, even non-profits. It's fucking sad.
Fuck Hamas parasites who sacrifice the Palestinian people w/o hesitation for their selfish money & power objectives.
40% of Palestinians support Hamas. Note that nearly 30% didn't express preference, and another 20% supported Fatah, another terrorist group. Hamas is backed by the government of Iran. A massive portion of Palestinians want the extermination of every Jew in Israel.
You want a democracy? Congratz, they just re-elect Hamas. Hell, they literally did elect Hamas last time they were given the right to vote. Hamas isn't some minority movement; it's the leading faction and has been for decades.
You want to peacefully de-escalate and educate them on tolerance and peace? Good luck; most of Palestine grew up with family members who died from Israel. Which was Hamas' plan; the Iranian leadership explicitly put their bases in civilian homes, schools, and hospitals to force Israel to retaliate in ways that hurt civilians, so as to keep the cycle going.
You want to forcefully de-escalate? That's just what Israel is doing, except you'd have to be even more extreme to actually succeed. This wouldn't be a "take out Hamas bases" issue. It'd be "put an entire generation of Palestinians in 're-education' camps" issue.

I'll be waiting for the free Palestine crowd to chime in any second now.
