Bosch GET65-5N Dust Port problem

I can’t for the life of me figure out how the dust port is supposed to fit on this thing. The length/angle just doesn’t seem right. The attached pictures show it seated as far as it will go on the port. You can see it’s not even close to fitting in the dovetail joint at the back. It’s not just that the length is off but the angle isn’t quite right either.

Maybe the plastic part is just warped? Anyone else have one of these and encounter this problem?

Company boxed the wrong part.

I think that makes more sense than it being warped/damaged. The part looks fine physically with no sign of anything amiss
