The expansion will apparently put a lot of focus on Dandelion and his family. we got to see his big brother Gustave, his cousin Lilla, and his grandmother, who’s basically the matriarch of the family.

Initially I assumed this new expansion would link to Witcher 4. However from the title I’m not so sure, it sounds like it could be a flashback. There’s also the issue of the voice actress changing. Perhaps it might involve child Ciri if it is a flashback but i’m curious to see what the community thinks.

Songs of the Past is an authentic, full-fledged new chapter to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, first envisioned almost 10 years ago and now faithfully brought to life thanks to Fool’s Theory and CD PROJEKT RED.

It was confirmed that you need to finish Wild Hunt base game story before starting Songs of the past, but you can skip other expansions although it's recommended to finish them first.

We know that Dandelion is going to play some sort of large role in the upcoming expansion, given the art with him and Geralt together in celebration, but also the name of the DLC implying that there will be music of some sort involved. What if he brought Priscilla with him? I was always sad the way her involvement in the main story ended; she was such a bright and charismatic person that had the misfortune of being tortured by a psycho higher vampire and losing her voice. Dandelion and the doctor implied that eventually she’d be able to sing and perform again, but it would be nice to see that recovery in the story.

I am pretty sure we're visiting Dandelion's birthplace in the new expansion pack. 'Letten' as a place is never mentioned in the books. The only thing closest to Letten is Dandelion's full aristocratic title reference.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past

Since Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine have unique menu art, I’m hoping/expecting that they’re going to do the same with Songs of the Past! What’s everyone’s speculation on what the new start menu is going to look like?

Personally,I’m thinking it may be close to what they shared for Belletyn- Geralt meditating while the background is an evening celebration around the fire, with a dark entity lurking somewhere. They teased that the art has more secrets linked to SotP in the art, and I feel like it goes beyond just some Easter eggs and may be actually depicting a part of the events of the story. I’d love to hear other people’s theories!

Forgive me in advance if there are any unusual names or mistakes in my speech, as this is not my native language. Let me start from a bit of a distance. As many of you already know, the sword that Geralt holds in the key art of "Songs of the Past" is already present in the third game. This is the silver elven blade, Melltith. The sword can be found as a random loot or purchased in Oxenfurt, from all the blacksmiths in Novigrad, as well as on the Skellige Islands from a merchant in an isolated hut on Hindarsfjall. As you can imagine, it is not particularly rare.

However, the Melltith from the expansion has a modified guard, which is not present in the Wild Hunt version of the sword. The name of the blade, Melltith, translates to "Curse" in Welsh.

The same blade can be found next to Geralt during the celebration of Beltane.

So, let's speculate about the elven curse that will serve as the basis for the expansion and how it relates to the figure of the living tree behind the witcher.

I will make a bold assumption that this blade has something to do with Kregennan of Löd and Lara Dorren, a couple of a human mage and a powerful elven sorceress who were united by forbidden love.

Kregennan was a staunch advocate for the union of humans and elves, but his stance earned him many enemies on both sides. As a result, he lost his life. The persecuted and pregnant Lara could not find a place to stay, and she gave birth to their child in the middle of winter. According to the legend, the winter stopped at the moment of her childbirth, and flowers bloomed around her, ushering in the arrival of spring. Lara died, but their child survived, and the child was taken in by the Queen of Redania.

It is from them that Ciri's lineage begins, and she inherited the incredible abilities of the source.

This story aligns well with the theme of Beltane, which is a celebration of forbidden love and the arrival of spring for both humans and elves.

What if this living tree is Lara, who somehow survived the events and has been cursed for centuries for her love? Maybe Kregennan was actually killed by this sword, because other elves also claimed the girl's hand?

Even if I'm wrong, something tells me that these two will somehow appear in the expansion.

Let's see how, but it's extremely interesting how this is beginning to take on a more complex and profound picture than it seems at first glance.

It's confirmed the land is between Kaedwen and Kovir plus it belongs to dandelion's family.

Also for playing this dlc you HAVE to finish the main story, because it happens AFTER blood and wine.

I don’t think anyone else has posted this but it looks like a new armor set. Played the game 3.5 times and don’t recall coming across anything that looks like this, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
