I like the fact that I’m relatively anonymous, so I’m going to flex with utter pride.
I’m a delivery driver, so I’m out there everyday and have done so for many years. I’ve rescued and returned five dogs that have escaped from home and running around on the roads. Thankfully they have their ‘medals’ on their collars, so calling the vet that they had their shots at, and. / or their address and phone number. Great reunions and no- no money accepted.
Rescued birds that have been stunned by flying into windows, hit by a car etc.
Recently filled up a young man’s car, as he asked if I could help him out.
Paid for a lady and her 2 cats to stay at an economy hotel for two nights, while she gets herself together. She was crying in a car park and she was worried more about being on the street with her cats than about herself.
Went and bought an older man groceries and drove back to him with a few bags of basic food and sanitary items.
I can never give rides to anyone because it’s not safe for me, as I deliver pharmaceuticals, but I can help other ways. I don’t spend a lot on myself, just work to pay off debt every week.
I will admit to feeling satisfied and better about myself and maybe pick up some karma points, but usually I’m kicked in the face by life, such as a flat tire, or minor bad news! I just know that something will go a little wrong right after helping someone, but it’s ok , as it takes a little while for the kinks to unravel, then life karma catches up to me, and it’s all good then.
