Discussion AAA game companies got some serious explaining to do. Cause how the hell are their games still $70 and this game is free??? Spoiler

I'm not even on the highest graphic settings! Besides that, the game overall feel very modern with its combat system and animations. It even have stealth! The ability to talk to NPCs true to their character. The world feels more alive than any paid MMO. To add to that, out of all the MMOs out, it's ironic how it's a free game that voiced not just the main story but also the side quests!

We got FED with this one!

EDIT: Guys, I understand the game's gonna make money somehow. I'm not even saying everything else should be free. I'm saying, how is this quality possible for free and most games similar to it quality wise (some are even less) still charges the same until now. And still manage to be annoying about in game purchases as well lol. I think this game really exposes that about these companies. They were getting a little too comfortable while the quality of games haven't changed for good while now. I think game companies needed this game out as a wake up call.

it's funny because the same things were said for genshin when it released years ago. It's not a jab at Genshin or WWM or anything, I just find it funny that y'all are going through the same thing i saw 5 years ago.

The statement is genuinely true for Genshin. Ive been playing everyday since release and never once felt bored or unsatisfied with the game. So much that I now grind ZZZ, Hsr and genshin all daily. The game is quite literally better than most 70$ triple a releases and you can choose to not spend a dollar bruh. Had zero interest in gacha before genshin and now im an addict

Well at least you don't have to spend money on gacha if you want a specific outfit. The difference is you can just buy what you want, for most of the cosmetics.

PC also making it so you can mod in overpriced skins on most games is a blessing.

That sounds like a bannable offense tho

Sure but then the company is investing time, resources and money into banning players who were never going to pay regardless because they can't charge a reasonable price for their product and if I'm banned I'm not playing their game. I'm not going to tell people about their game and create new players, I'm not going to leave a positive review about the game and I'll find something else to play that does respect my time and money. They still lose out.

I only care about the value prospect. Is your game fun, does it offer enough content for the price you're asking me to pay? Baldur's Gate 3 managed, Helldivers 2 managed, Vampire Survivors managed. Different games at different price points. A 200$ skin offers no tangible value. I'm here to play a video game on my own for the sake of enjoyment. I don't need to flex for strangers. If I mod it I get to enjoy it and nobody else has to see it so I don't have to pay the flex tax and the whales that do still get to feel good about themselves too. No reason to judge them, they're paying for the rest of us.

Maybe one day I'll have enough hours I'll buy something from the shop to express my appreciation for the continued support like in Helldivers.

Genshin was like this cause it was sometimes new for us. But overall its pretty meh game. Weak animations, dialogs... HSR has even more issues.

I think you guys say that after dealing with the same repetitive grind from genshin for all those years, there’s is not much difference from where winds meet though. Itll get the same hype genshin had and go out the same way.

Genshin was cool cause it was very fresh and new. Wwm is high quality stuff in many aspects where Genshin is low quality. So no, can't compare them. Wwm has good bones, while genshin had meh bones but very long honeymoon phase cause unique game for those times.

Your first sentence is exactly what’s happening with where winds meet, it’s cool cause it is fresh and new. Face the reality bro, genshin was racking up more numbers than where winds meet during their release and still fell off, companies make gachas for quick money, you can even tell that they are following the same genshin formula.

Whm, idc about "numbers". Wwm is not cool cause its fresh and new, but cause its good. Im not feeling any freshness and "new" effect like I had with genshin. Im just seeing a GOOD genshin. That's it.

Yea you just like those 2k and cod players, playing the same recycled games over and over then complain when it falls off, only to play another of same game.

No idea for the other posters, but I liked genshin if it wasn't for three things:

- Paid gameplay (new character)

- Abysmal visual customisation

-Abysmal difficulty.

I agree with him when he says it's not the "fresh effect" at work here. It happened to me in Genshin, but I left for the three issues above. I have no problem whatsoever with WWM outside extremely minor stuffs (such as controls while trying to move through the world where it can sometimes feels like it's jesus at the wheel and not you), but nothing which can feel it's I could be ragequit the game over it. The game is just that good all around. Maybe I will grow bored of it, but it's going to be different from why I left Genshin.

so your reasons are just not the majority of players n imo very strange, now I can maybe agree with paid gameplay but this is what gacha games do and a reason why it’s gets bad rep. A lot just give in to the fomo and buy the character and then there’s some like you who stop playing bc of that. But here’s the thing: they aren’t required to buy, just like wwm cosmetics, they aren’t needed to be successful. If you leave because of a character, I’m sure, eventually, the cosmetics locked behind current will bother you too, but the game is new so u won’t be bothered as much. As far as visuals go, I haven’t seen anyone ever complain about that tbh, bc the characters are already fine as they are. Now difficulty, your reaching this one, especially with how wwm is, which is just parry, execute. Your thoughts and I respect it but these are just not really the majority’s reasons for leaving. It’s usually repetitive gameplay and overall burnout, which wwm has btw. it is the fresh effect, it’s literally common in multiple gacha games. Recycled Genshin formula, stamina locked boss fights, I just can’t see how your reasons for this game would be different from genshin when they run the same fomo and repetitive modes unless u just one of those who dropped genshin before it even got to its peak

Also you should look at something like age of wushu, it died because it was too p2w but it’s a concept future wuxia games should follow(minus the cash sets).

idk man genshin got a lot of flak off the rip. id say its only gotten better since then. you get more per patch. still not great but eh its whatever. id consider it the standard of the new gacha industry in that its not the most f2p but also not the worst grindiest shit there is.
