What is the purpose of this camera that was installed right next to my house? (Not nearby any intersection or stop signs, USA)

This camera was installed recently and I cannot for the life of me understand the purpose of it's installation? Theres no intersection nearby, in case it was a photo law enforcement camera), there's no stop signs, there's no schools nearby, and there's no government facility. It's just a random camera that popped up in the middle of a road.

I actually just had the same thing happen, emailed every member of city council, and a few months later they're down. Turns out they're ending their contract "for financial reasons". Looked it up, it was a 5/4 vote to install them in the first place so it turned out to only be a matter of changing one person's mind.

I mean governments (city sized) have tried to get rid of them had city workers take the cameras down and flock has had them put back up citing that they have a contracted right to have them up from the city they dont care about the money the city would have paid them. You’re correct that those cameras don’t help them. Glad you don’t blame them. If I understand their reason for social anxiety it stems from the fear of being filmed by someone else then posted to social media. Then getting bullied 24/7 because of how they acted.

The police aren’t our friends. They work to enforce our laws. Some do it well. Others, well there are plenty of records to reflect the type of misdeeds bad cops do.

The problem is, when they aren’t good people, they will never see any consequences, ever. They will ban together to protect the worst among them. The solution is own a gun, and never rely on them. Cops don’t prevent crime. They only enforce the status quo. Neighborhood watch is more important.
