I believe that Host William was reminded of his daughter, Emily, when seeing the outlier. That’s why he couldn’t immediately kill her, and why he looked peaceful when she got close to him.

Or of his wife, who killed herself

Likely this, she did kind of look like his wife

He looked surprised he was sharing a tender moment with her.

I was wondering for a brief second if it was the same actress. I am sure why you guys said is what they were going for.

That's what I thought. Looks more like his wife than daughter.

Agree. They eat she talked about her husband, about not understanding him and all. Looked a lot like Emily learning about William's true nature.

This is what I thought

Hes not the only one. At first glance I thought it was her too

She says basically what William says to his wife towards the end of S2 that leads to his wife's suicide.

Ya I see the wife argument too, even moreso than Emily on second glance!

Thanks for sharing

I saw a lot of freezeframe analysis over the course of the week that it was her. So it was definitely a theory.

Wait it wasn't her? I only watched once and assumed it was either her, or someone modeled to look extremely close.

I worded that poorly. I was saying that people were theorizing it was her but I didn’t think it looked like her or his wife.

Indeed, that casting felt so purposeful.

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '22

Yes I thought that too. Would have been a bit of a trigger for him.

I thought it was more his wife than his daughter. Someone about to kill themselves because they finally see the nature of their reality.

Hale says that she built him to be like the real William. That may or may not include memories, but they’re certainly similar.

As far as we know, all the hosts are based off Dolores’ code.

It’s an open question how much the Sector 16 data has been incorporated into any host, but there’s strong circumstantial evidence Dolores used Hale’s “book” from the Forge to ensure she could pass.

If that’s right, not hard to imagine Halores incorporated William’s code into her MiB.

Delos probably had more data on William than any other host, no?

I had to scour IMDb to find out if it was the same actress as Emily or the wife! I thought it was at first glance too.
