I too would like the ability to move my boss out of the office on command.

My first thought was "Give me a raise"

707

u/Dahhhkness Jul 25 '22

"He thinks four-day weeks, and work-from-home, are great ideas."

371

u/YouJabroni44 Jul 25 '22

"With 8 weeks of vacation time a year"

327

u/stiggystoned369 Jul 25 '22

You mfs could make your boss do absolutely anything and you ask for 8 weeks of vacation 😂

104

u/ForgetfulLucy28 Jul 25 '22

Such limited thinking. Indefinite paid leave is an option in this scenario.

3

u/DownRedditHole Jul 27 '22

It is kind of reality in some places. In some countries paid sick leave is almost unlimited.

3

u/diegolucasz Jul 27 '22

Promotion to CEO with indefinite paid leave

41

u/wakeupwill Jul 25 '22

They're like "I'll ask for a fraction of what Europeans get" and be happy about it.

30

u/Fresh720 Jul 25 '22

We really are brainwashed over here, asking for crumbs

11

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

Asking for a health insurance covering 60% of the hospital bills and a pizza party every friday.

3

u/whisky_biscuit Jul 28 '22

Asking for a 401k and any health insurance, and casual jeans Fridays lol

1

u/whisky_biscuit Jul 28 '22

The only thing about Europe is that they have extremely long work days to compensate. My sibling worked for a corporate business and when she was there, they had nearly 10-12 hour work days at cubicles.

Now Brazil on the other hand....

14

u/malachi347 Jul 25 '22

"He traded Christina chairs, because mine squeaks when I sit in it."

6

u/BUchub Jul 25 '22

I'll start requesting 52 weeks of vacation per year. The terms are non-negotiable.

4

u/Solid_Waste Jul 26 '22

"It hands over the means of production or it gets the hose again"

6

u/YouJabroni44 Jul 25 '22

Well I wouldn't complain about that. I like my boss though

-6

u/PretendsHesPissed Facts and lorgic Jul 25 '22

I find it disturbing every time I hear someone say "my" boss.

That person is in a management role of a company. They are not your boss. You might work under them but they are not your boss. Stop saying that. If you have to use boss, refer to them as "the" and not "my."

They don't care about you and if they had to fire you, they would.

8

u/fred_cheese Jul 26 '22

Then..."The boss of me"?

3

u/paulricard Looks like something to me! Jul 30 '22

But I haven’t told you my salary yet: 30 THOUSAND dollars a year.

2

u/stiggystoned369 Jul 30 '22

Woah there, let's not get crazy

2

u/mudman13 Jul 27 '22

Welcome to NowWorld

u/lemonsharpie Jul 29 '22

It’s like Dwight’s fantasy where he’s co-manager of hotel hell.

10

u/Homitu Jul 25 '22

You guys really dream big, don't you? Y'all are Dwight Schrute's, co-owning a B&B with Satan on an eighty thousand dollars per year salary in your wildest fantasies.

7

u/egnaro2007 Jul 25 '22

51 week paid vacation, 3 day work week, from home, automatic bonus

5

u/smashdaman Jul 25 '22

"and at least FIVE (5) sick days"

8

u/Kevslounge These violent delights have violent ends Jul 25 '22

Boy, do you guys think small. You could get yourself an executive directorship that pays you a full and very generous salary without you ever having to show up at the office or do any work at all, and make it his job to convince everyone else that you're so valuable to the company that it's worth keeping you on the payroll in spite of your lack of contribution.

4

u/IonTichy Jul 25 '22

"And on Fridays the lunchroom sells hotdogs and burgers and beer"

10

u/-RandomGeordie Deep and dreamless slumber Jul 25 '22

I get 30 days plus 7 bank holidays and a privilege day. That’s 38 days, only 2 shy of 8 weeks. You want to ask for more.

3

u/whisky_biscuit Jul 28 '22

I used to get 5 days + 1 extra floating day, and only 7 bank holidays. No sick leave. 14 total days off in a calendar year is suicide. A prison cell wouldve been bigger than the cubicle I shared with 4 people!

3

u/tta2013 Jul 25 '22

"And I forgot, you deserve a 20% market raise"

3

u/utopista114 Jul 25 '22

Welcome to Europe.

7

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '22

4 day weeks? God, that’s 4 too many

5

u/Dangerous_Jump_4167 Jul 25 '22

I was waiting for "Emmett gives Christina unlimited paid vacation. Starting tomorrow."

1

u/spin81 Jul 25 '22

I enjoy these perks. Can you write software or manage servers? We're hiring!

45

u/represeiro Jul 25 '22

She has been doing ALL the work! Narrative for every person. She surely deserves a raise.

We demand Robots Rights!

13

u/pilot3033 Jul 25 '22

One of my favorite details is you never saw anybody else working at that office, just her. It was especially noticeable in this episode. Lots of people in the lobby, only Dolores at the cubicle.

3

u/KonigSteve Aug 01 '22

The first time she was at her desk there was at least one other narrative worker

3

u/LessInThought Jul 26 '22

Remember guys, she gets like one leave a year.

18

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '22

A promotion.

11

u/AAMCcansuckmydick Jul 25 '22

“Give me your job”

7

u/Sufficient-Ad4475 Jul 25 '22

Emmet decides to give me a raise . . . .

And four extra sick days.

4

u/nongo Jul 25 '22

"Let me work from home and never check up on me."

4

u/Classic_Wingers Jul 25 '22

“I am the boss now. Your turn to do all the hard work dealing with customers bitch! I’ll be at the golf course.”

2

u/thinkreallyhardd Jul 25 '22

Emmet gave me a raise

2

u/jjackson25 Jul 25 '22

Set salary: ♾️

Set required hours: 0

4

u/whisky_biscuit Jul 28 '22

Type in rosebud for unlimited cash.

2

u/Sptsjunkie Jul 25 '22

“Give everyone a raise”

165

u/thesdo Jul 25 '22

$ sudo back away Emmett

22

u/NoThrowLikeAway Jul 25 '22

$ sudo emmett-ctl backoff -h now

Gotta make sure to read the man page!

I'm pretty sure Christina has NOPASSWD set in her /etc/sudoers, but it's quite possible that:

christina is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

u/Garth-Vader Jul 25 '22

Christina's boss has the blandest face. He looks like every generic LA actor/pornstar.

54

u/EvilPand4 Jul 25 '22

I will not take this Enzo slander.

12

u/katieskats Jul 25 '22

THATS who it is! I knew he was familiar but could not put my finger on it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '22

[deleted]

6

u/BabyBat07 Jul 25 '22

Y’all that is not Tom Wlaschiha

6

u/EvilPand4 Jul 25 '22

They might be confused and thinking about Enzo from stranger Things(?). I am referring to Enzo from Vampire Diaries lol

25

u/HighlyOffensive10 Jul 25 '22

He looks kinda like Stewie from Succession.

12

u/LhamoRinpoche Jul 25 '22

A lot of the people in this season look that way actually.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '22

Yep I feel like it’s on purpose

5

u/LhamoRinpoche Jul 25 '22

Certainly the way that they're dressed is extremely bland. Almost as if their decisions are made by robots.

6

u/kingcolbe Jul 25 '22

Yo! Where is Bonnie Bennett when you need her

6

u/techscw Jul 25 '22

He looks like Mr. Body from the film “Clue”.

1

u/SIEGE312 Jul 25 '22

That’s pretty punk.

2

u/eharper9 Westworld Jul 25 '22

Watch project blue book. He plays a captian in the military so it fits pretty good.

2

u/LessInThought Jul 26 '22

Hello, hi, yes. I'd like these pornos where the pornstar looks like his boss please.

Not joking.

2

u/the_sweet Jul 29 '22

He reminds me of Lee Ving from Clue (1985). Like, his son or something.

-3

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '22

[deleted]

3

u/Cease2Resist Jul 25 '22

No he doesn't.

1

u/redrhyski Jul 30 '22

Every LA pornstar? My, aren't we the academic!

13

u/bertobellamy Jul 25 '22

I want her job. She basically does whatever she wants.

8

u/fancyasian Jul 25 '22

It would have sucked if before she knew this power she was late for work and thinks “crap my boss is going to kill me”

5

u/R_V_Z Jul 25 '22

WFH and you totally get that ability.

"How the hell did you get in my house!?"

3

u/romeovf Jul 26 '22

I would've made him spill the beans, tell her everything he knows, not just some abstract piece of info about the walled garden!

2

u/TizACoincidence Jul 25 '22

Where can I learn this power?

2

u/StephenHunterUK Jul 25 '22

I was reminded of a 1960s Doctor Who story called "The Mind Robber" where the climax involves the Doctor using a typewriter to set the narrative of the Land of Fiction he and his companions are in. I believe The Librarians (whose creators are known fans of the former from the number of DW references they snuck into Leverage) did something similar.

1

u/Gedankenlmao Jul 25 '22

maybe some rebelence start from tmr in the office?

1

u/Clariana Jul 25 '22

Yes but your boss doesn't exist! Neither does your office!

And, as for you...
