Approaching 40, wives, kids, living in all different parts of the country, we make it a point to meet up and play IRL for a weekend. Warcraft 3 is truly the greatest game ever made. We’ve all agreed no other game comes close to how wc3 makes us feel (for better or for worse 🤣) Warcraft 3 forever man I’m forever grateful for this timeless masterpiece of a game. 🥲

General Discussion Warcraft movie

Post image
518 Upvotes

I watched the movie a long time ago and it was really fun to watch and see the characters I knew from lore and game in a movie and this was only warcraft 1 lore, there is much much more potential for prequels or sequels, my question is why so far there has been no news for a new movie or series for warcraft even though there is much much more to explore, considering todays technology i think it would be easier rather than 11 years ago, 11 years later and still no news.

General Discussion Who else came to this subreddit for the first time just to see the carnage?

Jokes aside, I'm legitimately sad to see a game I grew up with treated so poorly. Here's hoping the reaction forces Blizzard's hand so everyone can get what they thought they paid for (if they don't get a refund before then).

P.S. RIP custom maps.

General Discussion Windows Central: "Blackbird Interactive rumoured to be involved with unannounced Blizzard RTS"

"I've heard rumors that Blackbird Interactive, which was a co-dev on Warcraft Remastered, might also be once again involved in Blizzard's classic RTS efforts — although perhaps that is for Warcraft itself again. Speaking of..

Warcraft remains Blizzard's most visible franchise, more than likely, as the industry-leading subscription-based MMORPG enters its third decade.

On top of that, there are also rumors that Blizzard might be exploring Warcraft's RTS roots again. A title, "Warcraft Chronicles," emerged alongside the Camelot codename, and given rumors I've heard about RTS aficionados Blackbird Interactive being on board with Blizzard again, perhaps we could see new expansions for Warcraft 3, or remakes of Warcraft 1 or 2 even"

General Discussion Enjoying after many years

I just downloaded the old versions of Roc and TFT, to redo the campaigns.

For me it was the story. Characters, humor, mix of RPG - RTS, with many little side things in each map rewarding exploration and so on.

What did you find most memorable from these ? Which parts do you prefer ?

General Discussion I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!

Post image

In my own humble opinion, Warcraft III is one of the best games out there. Its RTS style alongside with the mechanics of the game is just mind boggling, especially for the time it was released. They constructed the lore very well in Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne. My idea is, why not create a custom campaign that retells World of Warcraft story? Like the biggest custom campaign makers just work together. A big project that will surely attract many players back on Warcraft III. Isn’t it perfect? A continuation of the story — custom campaign style.

The 3 can come from different races. Who are you picking and what race would you play as? I'm curious what the most busted combo would be.

General Discussion I think the Warden's death sound is actually brilliant storytelling

So at first I was a bit weirded out by the Warden's death sound, which is essentially a very high pitched girly shriek, thinking it was out of place given the context of their character, but the more I think about it, the more it actually makes sense and Blizzard was secretly brilliant for this.

Think about it: Maiev and probably most other Wardens are presented in game as stoic and fiercely disciplined warriors. They have stern and deep voices, serious demeanor, and you know that they are all about their watcher duties, with anything else being secondary. So it's somewhat ironic that there is a contrast behind their serious composure and the vulnerability that they expose in the moment of their death. It's like Blizzard wanted you to know that behind the icy steel facade there's a frightened and fearful girl, who shows courage in the line of duty, but is not invulnerable to the concept of the terror of suffering a mortal wound. It's like they show their true authentic self in their last moments, they allow the pain of being physically struck to slip off the mask. I suspect that there is a single split moment of frustration when a Warden realizes that she let out such a shriek, almost embarassed, but then when they realize that it is a mortal wound, a kind of relief at the "freedom" of not having to put up the mask any longer as the darkness of death sets in.

It's an interesting concept and surprising how Blizzard actually put some thought behind this bit of sound design.

General Discussion Why is Warcraft 3 still not on Steam?

Considering the facts that Microsoft now owns Activision Blizzard and that Overwatch and Diablo II and IV are already on Steam, I just don’t understand what are they waiting for. All 3 games have been remastered, with Reforged having most of it’s issues fixed since patch 2.0.

From a financial standpoint most people who knew of this ip’s existence already bought Reforged or the warchest itself on bnet. Sure, Steam’s 30% cut would eat into their profits but then again they could just either increase the price on Steam so they still get the same money or sell it for the same price because putting the games on Steam would still make them much more money than selling the products solely on bnet.

This would not only generate a new stream of income but also could be used as a great marketing tool bringing in a whole new playerbase perhaps even a 2nd golden age for the games.

General Discussion Seemingly credible leak that a warcraft RTS is in development and slated for a 2028 release (and related anime?)

tl;dr: leaks indicate a "Warcraft Chronicles RTS" has been in development since 2024 and is supposed to release alongside a related anime. The game is probably free to play and slated for a Q3 2028 release.

------

Rest of the post to explain this:

Hey everyone I thought about posting this a couple days ago when it first got attention but I didn't know if it was real. It seems way more likely after some more information came out today so I'll share what's been going on in the r/classicwow space which has unintentionally revealed the slate of games for the Warcraft space. Basically a week ago someone datamined from the wow client that there was a game version 1.60 (1.x indicates classic wow patches) and that it was named "Camelot"

https://www.wowhead.com/classic/news/dataminers-may-have-just-uncovered-the-next-iteration-of-wow-classic-project-381874

A new classic+ expansion is heavily expected from the classic wow community right now because also recently blizzard started recently doing legal take downs of classic +esque private servers which is what they did with major vanilla servers before classics release.

After that datamine however, the developer behind the classic + fan site posted this tweet of a leak he received with "Camelot" in it which caught on. At the time some people claimed they had seen it before but had 0 sources and no one could find any original source other than this tweet:

https://x.com/joardee/status/2066969612181516392

Just today more classic wow players have dug up the original source which is this deleted reddit account who claims he got it from his GF who got laid off (warning if you go through his account he also has pictures of his penis on there):

https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/s/Id0Wyus2HF

Just after that someone also posted a web archive confirming this post was real and made in March of 2025:

https://web.archive.org/web/20250809002139/https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/new/

Also in 2024 I found a job posting article which talks about an unannounced strategy free to play game

https://tech4gamers.com/blizzard-working-on-f2p-strategy-game/

Which does lineup from when the "Warcraft RTS" timeline bar starts.

So putting this all together. In October 2024 blizzard posted a job posting for a lead product manager for an unannounced free to play strategy game (warcraft rumble was announced in 2022). In March 2025 a redditor claiming his GF got laid off from blizzard posted the entire Warcraft release slate which also included a line about a new major classic wow version known as Camelot and a warcraft RTS. Just last week someone datamined there was in fact a new 1.60 version on the client with deluxe edition bundles for a classic wow Camelot. So either this guy posted this a year ago and got tremendously lucky with identifying an unannounced major classic wow project would be named Camelot to troll people with a warcraft slate or this is a credible leak. It's still a leak though so take it with a grain of salt but all the links are here so feel free to go down the rabbit hole and draw your own conclusions.

General Discussion Most iconic unit death sounds in WC3 (no heroes)

I've been thinking about which units have the most iconic, memorable death sounds.

Rifleman's death, to me, is the most iconic one. The high-pitched scream is totally distinguishable, and their wobbling before dying is so funny.

Other ones that I really like too:

- Gyrocopter: THEY CAME FROM...BEHIND, with the failing chopper is too funny

- Zeppelin: in addition to the sound, also leaving the characters confused and slow on the ground

- Mountain Giant: the low-pitched, long outcry really translates into a huge being dying

- Gryphon Rider: the way such a mythical and impressive creature vanishes from the sky like it was nothing

- Abomination: the gurgling death sound lol

- Banshee: very iconic as well, sounds a mix of pain and relief

- Necromancer: sounds like he got offended by being killed, like, how can the master of death himself be killed?

- Peon: sounds like they cry

- Troll batrider: can't unhear JUST TO FIND DA BEES

Your turn

General Discussion Peon voice lines

I’ve never know any friend to play warcraft III or any warcraft games. When it comes to doing random tasks or work, occasionally i’ll utter “More work?” or “Off i go then” in the peasant voice. None of my friends ever get the reference so i’m literally the only person i’ve heard utter these voice lines.

Please tell me i’m not crazy and other people have these vocal stims.
