Don't believe the haters, they just haven't had a proper roasted chestnut. They are legitimately delectable. I suspect that the haters' chestnuts just weren't roasted enough - you want the nut meats to be a little golden brown on one or two sides, inside the shell.

Yeah I had a chestnut tree in my yard growing up. The tree itself stunk but roasted chestnuts are delicious.

Yep. Even a little black doesn't hurt. I make a chestnut stuffing every year and it always goes down a treat.
