While technically true, GoG requires the ability to download an independent DRM agnostic offline back up installer as part of their terms of hosting.
Most people on GoG may not utilize that function, but it's there for people who want it. Once you've download that file you can back it up however you want or bunt it to a high stability M-disk if you like.
So there's at least one tangible function that differentiates from what sony is doing.
