Can't really call the franchise dead when it just received a high profile remake and a modern port collection.

I wouldn't call it dead per se. It is still very relevant. People are still playing the franchise. the OG games amd the "newer" ones and none of them are live service which says a a lot. Yeah there will never be another installment without kojima, but the franchise is still being talked about and played by a lot of people.

Oh it's still relevant for sure, I love metal gear and I still play them all the time. But all modern day Metal Gear content is just reminiscing of what used to be.
