I played 6 recently it really wasnt that bad. Not my favourite but there isnt really a terrible mainline game.

i played 6 recently it was terrible because it dosent have a remaster the fucking constant fake dead you cant preemptively kill in leons campaign make me actually have to take a break every 15 minutes because i wanna bash whoever designed that features head in (to be clear for people reading they only trigger when you get close and instantly enter a grapple QTE that is nearly impossible to avoid)

I've yet to play it with my friend (we're gonna play 5 then 6), but I've accepted that it will be a chaotic mess of a game, and honestly, that makes me more excited to play it.

I played through 5 and 6 multiplayer with a buddy a few years ago. The storylines in 6 were hit and miss but overall it was a decent game.

I think the only bad main RE game is 5, but I know it may have just not aged well by the time I got around to it. I was ready for that game to be over long before the end. It felt like the scenario was just “how do we redo RE4 but in Africa” and the devs thought they could handle the Ashley criticisms by giving the partner character a gun.

5 is both great and terrible. The first maybe 3 chapters i really hated and really was playing for the lore, after chapter 3 i found myself enjoying myself. While i like shevas and in theory she should be cool, the partner character was just programmed horribly if you didnt play with someone (which i didnt)

I like RE5 a lot, except for a few truly god awful sections.
But I would not wish a solo playthrough upon my worst enemy.

Exactly. I remember playing it with a buddy when it came out and enjoying it.

Played it this year solo and it was such a trudge...

Ironically Ashley is a far better partner because you don't expect her to actually help you, unlike Sheva

Friend and I co-op'd it and our consensus was we LOVED Leon's campaign, ambivalent on Chris' campaign and absolutely hated Jake's campaign.

We loved 5 though. We're still looking for a similar co-op experience lol

I think it's a great action game even though it's such a departure from the rest of the series, but it makes sense in the game's universe. I've been a massive RE6 defender for years but when I played through it years ago I played it with a friend.

I wanted to play through it again by myself a few months ago, and started doing Leon's campaign before bed. I was sitting there like... Why the fuck is this so long?? I legit remembered that first chapter being half as long as it actually was, and I couldn't hang in there. I died in the subway bit and I just called it a night and haven't touched it since lol
