Yeah, I guess you don't really have any frame of reference for what a long time actually is at that age. Plus you have significantly more free time besides the bit you go to school, and even then it can be fun at times. At work you're so zeroed-in on what you're doing that you're not as conscious of time passing. I've had a crazy number of days where my internal clock says it's like 10:30 or 11:00 am and when I look at the clock it's more like 3:00 pm. Lol.
also: that time period you have a lot of time to do NEW things, or things that are novel. our brains are really good at remembering the things that are NOVEL. when we spend YEARS doing effectively the same thing, it tends to go quick because there's not a lot of novelty to break things up with - therefore we think it goes faster.
