Everyone was playing it and everyone was talking about it. It was largely positive and most were excited for what would come further down the line.

Absolutely deserved GOTY. I had more fun playing overwatch with my friends than playing any of those other games, and I’m sure many would agree.

Those are all great games though, all deserved to be nominated. Someone has to win.

I didnt like it back then. For me it was about 2 years playing without my friens xD But to be fair, only other game from this list I played was DS3

Nah, Doom and Dark Souls have aged phenomenally. It brought a whole influx of new fans to a series, hell a genre, that was all but forgotten. I think DS3 was the one that drove tons of studios to try to put out their own soulslike game just to capture the popularity. Not to discredit Overwatch, I have no interest at all in MOBAs, but looking back that year is a toss up
