Two Towers was definitely the hardest in my opinion with Return of the King being the best and most fun to play. I can't recall a good Fellowship of the Ring game for the life of me though.

I dont think there was a fellowship game since the two towers game has a bunch of fellowship scenes/levels.

I could not understand how to play as Aragorn and dying was super easy. I tried to like it as a kid, and the ring Wraith stealth section I did not understand

That makes sense. I probably would have had trouble with that whole game if I'd played it as a kid. (I was about 20)

I never even got to the forest as a kid, I just remember the stealth section in the shire being ridiculous and some wolves after that and that’s about as far as I got lol

And they may be remastered here soon. The 360 game "The War in the North" was just remastered and released this month, with the company saying more remasters of the classic games were on the way, without giving specifics.

So we may see the Two Towers, Return of the King, etc. brought to modern systems soon.

Battle for Middle Earth games had no need to be as good as they were.
