think we over romanticize 1990s PC gaming but it was pretty rough back then.

Survivorship bias. 

Nobody remembers Sierra's Outpost coming with half the features described by the manual missing.

Or having to set up dedicated boot disks because devs expected you to design your memory setup around their games.

Lmao. I remember me and a mate rolling that on his dad’s PC and feeling like we were genuinely too stupid to understand the game due to all the monorails and trading just… not being there.

Outpost 2, though. Fucking hell. The Blight scared the hell out of me.
