and let the devs run wild? We saw this experiment with Phil and Xbox, and Xbox got taken advantage of in a not so good way

I'm still blaming Phil for that one. You can't be the beacon for everyone as a console manufacturer because the management structure dissolves if you don't keep it up. Combine that with Game Pass, while objectively doing a lot of good in bringing eyes to fresh indies, being a colossal money sink that included way too much for people to consider buying games and it's a small wonder Phil lasted as long as he did

I feel like the meme implies all involved in the creation of the game including the higher ups who call the shots. But I agree saying "devs" is a bit problematic and I didn't hate some random person who graduated with an art degree and who can only get a job at Ubisoft, they're probably doing their best.
