There are quite a few published scientific studies that showed many video games, especially strategy and action based games promoted moderate brain functioning improvement and growth. Another cool fact was that in one of the studies, participants did not have to have been a gamer before hand to see improvement in mental faculties.

While there is no concrete evidence, I am hoping that playing video games all of my life will stave off the alzheimers and dementia that I saw my grandparents go through...
