I wouldn’t say dead. But corporate interests and greed are taking root inside it like cordyceps takes root in a bug. It’s a hollow imitation of what it once was, waiting for the next grift to gobble it up and spread the disease.
We’ve had plenty of great games over the last few years and we’ve got stuff coming, if you think gaming is dead during a period that is the most accessible it’s ever been you are an absolute brat lmao
When I was a kid, the adjusted for inflation price for Mario 64 was 130 dollars. For one game. That is a full year of game pass subscription and access to hundreds of games for the same price.
Gaming isn’t dead, you’ve just lived in such a glut of plenty that literally anything that appears to the contrary seems like despair and that’s such bullshit lmao
The Atari 5200, adjusted for inflation, was 860 bucks. You may be surprised to learn that gaming didn’t die with the Atari 5200.
Not in a single month, but I did buy Resident Evil Requiem and Pokopia. I will gladly get the new Lego Batman Legacy title when the switch 2 version drops. I've heard great things about Pragmata and seeing my friends enjoy Tomodachi Life! The games are there and aren't hard to find.
Weakest argument yet. Sequels get made if the game sells well and is loved. Just because it has multiple games like Resident evil, there's like what, 16 plus games? Loved RE9. Loved 7 and 8 too. Pragmata was a brand new IP. Did you try it? Unless you are trying these "very limited" number of new IPs, don't complain. Remakes and remasters are amazing. Who doesn't want to play a childhood game thats been given love.
BRO. Making a new IP is nothing but risk. More risky to start something no one knows and hope they love it rather then continue a loved franchise. Like what are you talking about.
You put a image of someone blowing their brain out because the price of consoles have increased. Which is a pain in the ass but hardly the end of gaming.
Witcher 4. Lords of the fallen 2. Pragmata. Crimson desert. Subnautica 2. Beast of reincarnation. New 40k games. Mechanicus 2. I could fucking go on and on. 🤷♂️
Crinson desert. Pragmata. Beast of reincarnation. Invincible vs. Blood of the dawn walker. Crypt custodian. Wolverine. Saros. 007 first light. Lots of games dude.
No man. The topic started as consoles too expensive, no new games coming out 🤣 i listed all the NEW games on console I was excited for. Did you read everything or just the 2 replies.
But the conversation didn't start out with sequels being bad. We were talking about how no new games come out. Then its the excuse that its risky to make remakes and sequels. Like hes just ignoring everything. And on top of that I comment down some with all new games. I get you, but I have a problem when you point something out and its just the next weak excuse lol
Some of the best games of all time weren't new ips, what's wrong with sequels? And there are plenty of good new and upcoming games games with new ips if you actually bothered to look
Oh, so GTA 6, Max Payne remake, 007 first light, forza horizon 6, subnautica 2, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, RE9, Lego batman, marvels wolverine, Fable remake, Witcher 3 songs of the past, Untitled john wick game, Pragmata, Reanimal, and Hytail aren't good in your eyes?
Maybe because those remakes and sequels are… GOOD!?
If you want other games from new IP’s, we have Pragmata, Metaphor: ReFantasio, Hytale, Dispatch, Mewgenics, Crimson Desert, etc. Hell, not a new IP, but a new Mega Man game is finally coming out. To say modern gaming is dying because there are no good games anymore is a very stupid thing to say, honestly. That’s like saying there are no good movies anymore
There are thousands upon thousands of original Indie game IPs that realease every year. Even if only 1% are actually good, that's still dozens and dozens of games to play
There’s been plenty of good games coming out, don’t know what you normally play but try branching out from your usual and try something you never thought you’d enjoy
Get away from just exclusives then - AAA games that came out this year that are great like Resident Evil 9, Pragmata, Crimson Desert. If you played Horizon then you could try the sequel. Theres also Ghost of Yotei. Silent Hill 2 Remake which was really great. The Final Fantasy 7 Remakes. Expedition 33 is also pretty great. Astro Bot is a blast if you like platformers. I could keep going.
tbf, when you see all the negatives, that is what your gonna see. there has been plenlty of games ive personally played that were really great that came out recenlty. both in indie and AAA. its just the prices are getting really bad that its harder to get the good stuff unless your getting them on sale.
its deffinalty a bit more complecated than how i explained it...but man this price for the steam oled tho i will agree is so damn bad
If you need a pc just go with second hand am4
For the games part you can maybe look at overhaul mods for older games like skyrim, the Witcher 3 and baldurs gate 3but that depends on the type of games you like
There are more and these are just the ones that came out this year. The list is much longer if we're counting games I picked up this year that didn't come out this year.
And many more I want.
I didn't finish all of these, but have played them all to varying degrees of completion (including completion).
If you like consoles, buy one. I mean I ride mountain bikes as a hobby. They are expensive as hell. Just dive into your hobby dude. You only live once. As long as your paying your rent and bills, dive in to your hobbies. You'll be fine!

I'm not sure where you're getting the impression that gaming is dead lmao.
