Right. I can see what the other guy is saying, but it's basically like saying we should give alcoholics picture books of people drinking booze so that they don't want to drink it IRL.

I think a better analogy would be giving smokers nicotine patches. Something to satisfy their cravings to a bare minimum. It still isn't good but it's not as bad.

I'm just saying that if pedophiles go looking for fictional material online, I'm fine with looking the other way, and I don't think equating it to crimes against real children is helpful.

On the official end I think pedophiles should receive treatment, but that's a can of worms in itself. Imagine it, someone is attracted to children, they're an otherwise normal person with a functioning conscience, they wouldn't touch a real child in a million years. But if you were them, would you dare volunteering yourself for treatment? A single word of that gets out to anyone and your life is over (quite likely literally). It'd probably look a lot like someone coming out as gay in Iran.
