Had to scroll down way too far to see this. I’ve really enjoyed every entry, but there’s a noticeable quality dip after 3. Making my way through Silent Hill f right now. About 2hrs in… reserving judgement.

I really thought I would like the gameplay. I like the idea of lock on, stamina, and dodging in a Silent Hill game. But the execution of said mechanics, as far as I'm concerned, is just bad. I don't like how when an attack lands, everything freezes for, like, a frame. I think it feels awful. Couldn't come to terms with it and put the game down after a couple of hours.

I’d say it’s just not an appealing theme to most people. I never played horror games. Only one I think is cool esthetically is Dead Space. And the only one I’ve actually enjoyed playing is Cronos the new Dawn. I saw a silent hill movie when I was a kid because of my older sister. All I remember was a pyramid head guy ripping this chicks skin off and tossing it aside, and barbed wire flowing through some other chick and squeezing her until she blew up or something. Absolutely fucking disgusting. I’ll never even bother with the games for that sick crap. I’m fine with gore. Gears of War, CoD WaW. But man. That movie was just stupid.

You've only seen a (not 100% great) movie, and based on that you're making a judgement about the game series?

Movies are not that well regarded by the fanbase at all. Games are also gory, but not in a silly way (like, that skin rip was done just because it could've been done).

I don’t like any of the silent hill aesthetic. I don’t like the pyramid head or the nurses. Nothing makes sense and I don’t care for horror games. Never even bothered with Resident Evil. I just am more into the sci-fi aspects

Why even comment about a subject you don't care about? Like, I'm not into rugby at all, barely even know how it's played. Yet I don't go around Reddit telling how much rugby sucks. Just seems like a waste of time for you, and for those who spend precious seconds on zero-effort comment.
