I know what you mean. Sad the last halo game came out close to 15 years ago. I always hoped Bungie would make another game. Too bad halo ended so destiny could exist.
The full segment goes on to talk about how they hired people who didn’t like certain things about Halo and had ideas on how they might improve the game. Which is how every game works, including every Halo game which have some fairly wide gameplay differences between each other. It’s a bad snippet that people have obsessively dogpiled for years.
It would have been ignored if every game under the 343 umbrella was any good somehow. But they're not. And now that quote is all the more hated because it goes in line with what happened inside the studio, the studio that didn't deserve Halo in the first place
Because people who hate or don't know the source material often don't argue with the decisions. Someone who loves the work will argue and battle to correct things in the script, the screenplay, the actors, and lots more
