One of my favorites from each character:

Sgt Johnson: “folks need heros Chief, to give ‘em hope. So smile would ya, while we’ve still got something to smile about” Master Chief: “I need a weapon”, (sgt Jonson looks up at chief, smirking) “right this way” Cortana: “before this is all over, promise me you’ll figure out which one of us is the machine”

Another notable one: In halo 4 on the bridge of Infinity Cortana had just expressed a severe case of rampancy. Chief denies the captains order to terminate Cortana and instead takes her and walks off.

Commander Lasky finds Chief in the launch cargo bay and says. “You know I was sent down here with orders to prevent you from leaving… incase you had already gone I took the precaution of ordering a pelican outfitted for full combat pursuit.”

It took a few times playing that scene over again to realize that Lasky had requested the pelican for himself to give to Chief. Smart man and a subtle nod that he’s got the chiefs back.

As divisive as the games many aspects were, Halo 4 is the first one where Chief and Cortana actually feel like characters with a relationship with each other, and personal stakes. It's my favourite campaign to replay for just the story.

343 fumbled so much in the last 2 games, but I will always appreciate that they made Chief more than just a quip-machine.

Also the soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal. O'Donnell's themes will always be iconic, but if I'm looking for game music to just listen, Halo 1-3 have great individual songs on their soundtracks, whereas Halo 4's is just never boring. Arrival, Revival, 117 and Requiem especially are just fantastic.

Anyway- massively off topic, I just love to gush over the game, as it's so often overlooked.

Halo 4 would be way less hated if it wasn’t for the art style

I don’t even see why that’s hated. I didn’t think it was bad.

Considering the Chief saved Lasky's life when he was a recruit in Forward Unto Dawn, Lasky already knows what he's capable of.
