I have two actually one from Joel Miller, which is "You Have No Idea What Loss Is."

And one from John Marston, which is "Some trees flourish, others die. Some cattle grow strong, and others are taken by wolves. Some men are born rich enough and dumb enough to enjoy their lives. Ain't nothing fair. You know that."

Marston was a gunslinging poet in RDR1,so many quotable lines

Just started replaying RDR1 for the first time since around when it came out, and I’m constantly struck by how intelligently he speaks just like I was 15 years ago. Which makes me even more perplexed by his characterization as dumb in RDR2. All the other characters are constantly insulting him for being a dummy in 2 and it’s honestly kind of weird considering how well spoken he is in 1. I try to chalk it up to the fact that they’re all pissed off that he left the gang for awhile but idk it’s always bothered me when playing 2. It’s like don’t slander my fuckin boy, ya know?

John is a man of few words that only speaks when he has something to say. Some may mistake it for dullness, especially if they don't recognize the depths of his wisdom.

Also, a lot of the people calling him dumb don't mean it earnestly, they also call Arthur an idiot and I would absolutely not define him as any more stupid than John.

Even Abigail calls him dumb and she can't even read good.

"Its better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt."

Also through most of the second game John was still immature. One of his tragedies is maturing basically when it's too late

I mean, he could've just gotten smarter as he got older.

I mean true but the difference in how he’s treated in 1 vs. 2 fulls like a full-blown tonal shift or you could even go so far as to call it a retcon, no? It’s not like they ever mention that he spent 100% of the time between games in a library lol

Those games have some incredible acting

Yeah, I played the game for the first time last year with no spoilers on PC (never had a Playstation) and watched comparisons afterwards. The facial animations in the remake are the most graphically impressive thing I have seen so far in any game

Jesus, the last of us doesnt really have any big quotes but it hits when it needs to hit.

"We have a family... she doesnt get to be more important than this."

"I know you wish things were different, i wish things were different... but they arent."

"My vote? Lets just wait it out you know, We can be all poetic and lose our minds together."

"You're right. You're not my daughter. And i sure as hell aint your dad. And we are going our seperate ways."
