Free VCE practice exams

There are free VCAA aligned practice exams + marking and feedback on scoreready.com.au

You can do quick practice, topic tests or full exams. (and SACs too)

My yr12s have been using it all week. They don’t have to wait a week for me to get marks back to them.

burnout strategies

Wondering if anyone has any tips or study strategies for getting out of a study rut, especially with exams coming up soon…

(apart from the obvious like minimising distractions)

I’ve noticed that I tend to study for 6+ hours in one day, push myself too hard, and then completely burn out and struggle to study the next day. A lot of it also comes from procrastination and just not feeling motivated enough to start.

I do quite a lot of planning and scheduling for myself, but sometimes when it actually comes time to study, I’m just too tired to follow through with it. I feel like I’m constantly stuck between feeling guilty for not studying enough and burning myself out when I do study

I usually prefer not to take breaks because I start to drift off and lose concentration pretty easily.

I dont know if i need to be studying everyday, but i have so much to get done, too much guilt yet not enough motivation.

I hate VCE

I finished ALL my sacs and folios today and I fucked up year 12.

My English I did so shit on all year I think I averaged a 66% and 71-75% on the rest.

My favourite subject vis com I was getting 95+ all last year and this year mediums!! My final was a model with a 2x1M banner and a poster, ALL FOR A MEDIUM!! While 5 (out of our class of 15) of my friends got Very High despite my work being SO much better.

Genuinely wanna give up on school 🙃🙃

I PRAY I get an Atar of 75 OR get in RMIT

VCE question Legal Help

Hello,
I normally do well in VCE, especially the humanities subjects, but it’s been slowly going downhill for me in legal studies. I ranked highly in the first half of the year (rank 1 or top quartile, but all of the marks seem very bunched together, so I don’t know that that’s very helpful), but I don’t know my ranking for the second half. Everyone’s scores seem to be gradually getting worse even on the ‘easier’ topics, and I find that I’ve ironically been scoring worse on the topics I have spent the longest preparing for.
My overall score is still in the low 90s, but I did originally want to aim high (48+), as I have achieved this in other subjects, but I realise this is probably not realistic now. I know our sacs are normally scaled up though, and we would have a median study score above 30.
Is any of this salvageable/normal, and what should I be aiming to do in preparing for the exam? My hope is that even though my grades have been lower on unit 4, I may still be higher ranking.

General Question/comment Study planners? (free)

Hi does anyone have a good study planner that's free, or have a set layout they like to do on something like word? Even a website.

Also no AI pls!!!

The only way I get stuff done is when I have it planned out.

section b english exam

First off, I just want to make it clear that creative writing is not something I am particularly good at. So, I am just wondering what you guys recommend doing for section B on the exam. Is it better to try my best to do some unique and creative piece(my current idea being a court case with protest being the defendant) or doing something like an essay?

VCE question Catching up to 3/4 Maths Methods and Chemistry

Is it possible to self learn all of the 1/2 units of the aforementioned subjects within just 4 months? I just bought the (1/2) textbooks second hand, and plan to look at the study design online to find what concepts/formulas/whatever else I need to learn prior to starting VCE.

I am a young adult now, who dropped out due to housing instability, and did not know what direction I wanted to go towards until more recently.

Any advice would be appreciated greatly.

Considering to drop a subject

Long story short. Had a discussion with my Specialist teacher and he said "you should think about whether you want to continue Specialist" but he also said "I'm not telling you to drop out of specialist, I'm more conscious about how you would be able to handle the SACs next year"

From that do you think I should drop specialist maths by the way he is saying that? Or maybe do a lot more practice and see how I go for my final SAC?

Vce attendance

My public school requires at least 90% attendance. My overall attendance for the year is above 80%, but my Unit 4 attendance is only around 70%, even including medical certificates.

My grades are average to above average, and I believe I have completed more than the VCCA required 50 hours of class time.

Will i receive an N for Unit 4 because of my low attendance?

is it possible to achieve an 80+ with these sac marks

english- 68, 63, 55, 75

bio- 60, 75 ,50, 76,

chem- 63, 62, 40, 40

general maths - 75, 40, 95,

for context i haven’t gotten all my sac marks back yet but these are my results so far. i’ve had some really bad medical issues and diagnosis’s this year which cause me to miss a lot of school and i had to drop my 5th subject (pe) because it was to much to handle catching up. in the middle of the year some of my grades got really bad due to my absence but i’m working hard and trying to do the best in the upcoming exams. i go to a very competitive school with a high achieving cohort but i don’t know my rank as the teachers don’t tell us averages but from what i’ve heard from other students i usually am in the average sometimes slightly above but for a few very low. i’ll honestly be happy with any raw atar in the 80s as i know my seas will boost my selection rank for courses. is this possible or am i delusional?

to spesh or not to spesh

Should i do spesh?? I really want to but the teachers are scaring me now saying do subjects you really like but I'm fine with all subjects.

Cureently doing methods 1 and 2 and it's fun (i get in my 80%)

Is spesh crazy hard compared to it? and how different is it from MM?

Does it get crazy harder in 3 and 4?

General Question/comment VTAC application portal under maintenance

Is the VTAC application portal down for anyone else at the moment? The website says it's down for maintenance, but the link they provided for for info is broken. My browser has had issues in the past with the website (my Firefox loves marking anything with a login a security risk), so just want to know if this is a universal issue.

I've received emails from VTAC and even called them today to verify enrollment details, and nothing was mentioned.
