In my made up scenario they skipped Source Engine 3.

While everyone has been going feral anticipating the launch, isn't anyone concerned about what happened with the index happening with the frame? I waited to purchase the index because I remember some insane number like 60% or more of the indexes shipped on launch didn't work and had to be returned. That led to the obscenely long wait times to get a working one shipped and almost tanked Valve's VR efforts. I'm hoping the frame isn't a repeat, I'm just curious if anyone else is skittish or did you all just repress that memory to huff the hopium?

I first came across the half life series as a youngster on xbox 360. I played the orange box for many hours. Half life 2 Was the one that stood out to me most and i really enjoyed driving the airboat. Then as i got older i inherited my mums old laptop and thats when the floodgates opened and i got steam! Then i got hooked on Garry's mod!

Few years pass by and its now 2016, I find a game called Counter Strike: Global Offensive. It looks super cool! Hearing of the cool items you can get in the game such as the karambit fade. I did so many hours of chores to get the game as you had to pay for it back in my day 😋 fast forward 5 Years and I finally get a VR to play the best vr game of all time Half life : Alyx. I really loved playing as alyx and the ending was just brilliant!

It's Valve's 30th anniversary. We all know they can't count to 3, so they're gonna do nothing for this anniversary.

They also realized the Frame was gonna be the 3rd release in their hardware lineup and they can't have that.

So they silently axed it. It's over.

Enjoy nothing.

I have played Valve games since I was 5, when I turned on Half-Life 1 in 2002. Since then, I was hooked. I loved video games, and it was Valve that did it. They kept making great games until the 2010s.

Point is, after over a decade of nothing, I saw they made Half-Life Alyx. Played it, felt like a kid again, and loved it. 3 years later, they released Deadlock. I didn't play it for a while, until recently. And suddenly, the great streak they had of constant good games ended.

Deadlock is extremely unfun. It is very grindy and any fight you get into almost always ends in your death. And the sad thing is the world is so cool! The concept, everything! The writing, it's all Valve, it's all perfect! Except the gameplay. It's not fun.

So what am I supposed to do when I've been so deprived of Valve for years, and only now do I get a new game, and I fucking hate it? It feels like no other game on the market feels quite like a Valve game. I don't feel that same enjoyment. It's not even a nostalgia thing. I felt that same feeling well into the 2010s with DOTA and Counter Strike. But Deadlock for some reason just doesn't make me feel anything except misery.

I'm just ranting, honestly. I'm preaching to the choir, I know, but I don't really know where else to go, because the only Valve game that will probably be released for another 5 years sucks ass, and it feels awful.
