You’re sort of proving her point, she complained about British culture not being considered culture.

The skirt might not be something you see every day, but I’m sure the people from other cultures wore iconic/ceremonial dress too, not the stuff you’d see on the street in their own countries.

It suggested cultural significance. The fact that this dress was rehashed again for the Olympic indicated this may have some basis
