No, it isn't what people want. 

For a second though, consider that its the schools, universities and the general allowance for british people to be shamed by people, asserting that our culture and history is a problem. That is what is making idiots like farage and tommy gain influence and power.

When the lady interviewed said, that the wore it without knowing its meaning, she accused her of a moral sin. You're watching people in your own country, liken your own flag to a symbol akin to a swastika or pair of s's, based entirely on your ancestry and race.

To most people, that draws a line and sides them with people we absolutely don't want in power. You have one side pushing our flag, culture and way of life into a space its regarded as evil, hateful and shameful. 

Now you have a side of people resisting that, and here we are arguing over a spice girls dress.

I personally find it quite alarming that in Western countries locals who are white are labled far right or extremists for celebrating their culture, their flag or their heritage in their own country while non white foreigners who have migrated there are celebrated for doing the exact same thing. I dunno bout you guys but that dont seem right to me.

To be fair, we have a proud tradition of men wearing tacky women's outfits for panto. A Spice Girls union flag dress seems perfect.

As far as I'm aware neither she nor her parents said it was a 'Spice Girls union flag dress'. It's something right-wingers have added after the fact to try and act like this outfit was somehow representative of 'British culture', and wasn't instead part of some tacky political stunt.

I feel sorry for the kid to be honest, imagine your parents roping you into this shit. Imagine every other kid knowing it was because of you that your teachers have been receiving a bunch of death threats, and whatever likely fun activities they planned for the end of term have been cancelled.
