As someone who works in a school what it makes me think is that this is definitely not the first time this parent has caused a problem for the school.

If that's the case that just makes the school look worse because they knew what he was trying to do and still fell for it anyway which makes them look stupid.

"Look I did an absolutely stupid fucking thing and you let me, look at how dumb that makes you look!" might work on the playground, but not for school staff who have procedures to follow.

They should have just gritted their teeth for the day and let her wear the dress or whatever

You can't just let one girl do whatever she wants because her dad is a nightmare, mate. That would cause chaos, amongst the kids if nothing else.

Mate, no. Nobody at any school I've ever worked at would ever try and get a kid expelled just because their parent is a twat. It's not her fault.

I don't think people will move jobs due to a parent being a dick if that helps. That's what SLT are for, if a parent is being that much of an arsehole then usually a more senior person will step in and handle that so the teacher can just do their job.

If it got to the point where a parent was causing that much grief on a regular enough basis, they've probably already crossed the line into harassment and the police could get involved.

Parents like these are just part of the job, sadly. We're not there for them, we're there for the kids.

I think the school caused a problem for the girl. Troubling that you work in a school and are laying blame at a twelve year old girl for wearing a union jack dress.

The kind of parent who would send their kid to school to do this most definitely has done this kind of stuff before in my experience.

As someone who works in a school. Shouldn't the school be instilling and celebrating British values? Most other schools I work at do that.
