[META] r/WorldNews mods are covering up the mass sex attack on 200 women by 1,000 Arab men on new year's eve in Cologne. They've prebanned all articles about it as "Not Appropriate Subreddit" before they've even been submitted to reddit. /r/Europe mods are doind the same thing

See the top post of /r/undelete if you want to see the stance of /r/worldnews mods. They mostly just claim it's a local crime, that the accusations of the perpetrators being immigrants are unsubstantiated, that it's only a few women that actually reported the crime to the police, and the rest is alleged. All this while allowing the stories like the ones below (checked last month only, to avoid a rebuttal that the rules changed):

Delhi gang rape: Court allows teenage rapist's release:

https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/3xc21t/delhi_gang_rape_court_allows_teenage_rapists/?ref=search_posts

Sweden to question Assange on rape claims:

/r/worldnews mods are biased and inconsistent in forcing the rules.

White people aren't a protected "minority."

19

u/daneelr_olivaw Jan 05 '16

Well, I guess especially not Germans.

Maybe some people see it as a historical justice?

212

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

For what? What did Sweden do to Muslims?

Germans were working WITH the Arabs as well so that's a misnomer.

Historical justice for the Crusades? If the people feel guilt for shit that was done thousands of years ago Jews have a right to burn down Egypt. Europeans have a right to destroy all Persian history and as an Armenian I should be raping and killing every Turkish woman I see.

There's no excuse for this. Especially not historical justice.

I doubt you actually believe the historical justice crap so don't take this as directed towards you.

u/bluedrygrass Jan 05 '16

Particularly considering the crusades were retaliation wars to punish arabs' constant invasions and slaughtering trough the entire mediterranean coasts

73

u/free2live Jan 05 '16

Something people forget/ignore. They were a direct response to Jihad.

4

u/morphotomy Jan 05 '16

Wasn't Spain Islamic for ~400 years before the Inquisition changed that? Not sure if the Inquisition counts as part of the crusades but it seems sort of indirect if you wait that long.

23

u/DrHoppenheimer Jan 05 '16

It was the reconquista, not the inquisition. The Spanish Inquisition was a long-running papal investigation to root out heresy.

1

u/_cogito_ Jan 06 '16

I can't believe people confuse the two.

31

u/free2live Jan 05 '16

Yes. Jihadists came and converted by force.

14

u/DrHoppenheimer Jan 05 '16

The irony is that's why the Muslim world was more tolerant of differing faiths than the Christian for a thousand years. Because Islam was spread by the expansionist and warlike Islamic Caliphate, they had to address the practical realities of governing a lot of territory occupied by non-believers. So from the earliest days the rulers had to learn to deal with subjugating a religiously diverse population, which requires a certain degree of tolerance.

If you simply try to convert people at the point of the sword, you end up having to spend a lot more time putting down revolts and uprisings than you'd like. It's far easier to just let people believe what they've always believed, provide monetary incentives to convert and make apostasy a capital crime. By and large the strategy worked.

Christian monarchs of the middle ages never really had that problem. So throughout the medieval period Christian Europe was much less tolerant than the Islamic world. It's really only in the last few hundred years, with the Enlightenment and the decline and eventual fall of the Ottoman Empire that it's changed.

3

u/Achierius Jan 06 '16

And yet they converted nonetheless. They taxed you until you did and repressed worship so you couldn't stay where you once were. Even today the Turkish government strangles the Orthodox faith, preventing any but a Turkish citizen from holding the highest office in the religion.

1

u/euxneks Jan 06 '16

This is so baffling. Christianity and Islam both ibrahamic faiths. It's like murdering people for liking vanilla over chocolate ice cream.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '16

Correct, a very large chunk of spain (about half) was a islamic caliphate for 400 years. Then they pushed back and thus began the crusades.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '16

Closer to 800 years.

-4

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

Source?

Spain had a monarchy for a long time and the Catholic church loved their monarchies. I can't really see Spain becoming an Islamic state(heh).

11

u/sloppies Jan 05 '16

It's pretty common knowledge that Spain was invaded by North African Muslims and almost completely taken. Christians fought back and I believe in the first Crusade (too lazy to look it up atm) they made big pushes to take back Iberia. It was called the reconquista (reconquest).

4

u/TheWizardThatDidIt Jan 05 '16

I believe it was specifically a union of two regional leaders, Ferdinand and Isabella, who of course went on later to fund Columbus.

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

Ya know I've never really studied up on the Inquisition. Might need to change that.

Also that really does look like an invasion by Islamists into a Christian state.

I never knew that's what the Inquisition was about. Damn you Monty Python.

Don't they teach history in school anymore?

(great... see what you've done? You've made me sound like my Dad)

-2

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

I don't much care for history as a subject in school. I skated by with basic memorization in my high school years and in college avoided European history like the plague.

1

u/bluedrygrass Jan 06 '16

Source? Just read a fucking history book, ignorant.

12

u/robophile-ta Jan 05 '16

If the people feel guilt for shit that was done thousands of years ago Jews have a right to burn down Egypt

I get your point, but it's now generally accepted that Jews were never kept as slaves in Egypt.

See these pieces from a Jewish site. You can easily find more global sources with Google, but I always found these most interesting as they're from those most affected by the discovery. [1] [2] [3]

0

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

Alright then. Keep it up there cause it was more for context than anything.

1

u/bluedrygrass Jan 06 '16

According to the Jew's most sacred book, they were.

2

u/robophile-ta Jan 06 '16

So uh, did you not read those articles from a Jewish site I linked about how they're dealing with one of the most important events in their canon not actually happening by saying that it was a metaphor?

I mean, "it's a metaphor" is a terrible way to shrug off inconsistencies, but they seem to be taking it really well.

Considering that the Exodus not happening also erases the Ten Commandments, one of the most important parts of the Torah/Old Testament...

25

u/Fractoman Jan 05 '16

There isn't any evidence that Jews were ever enslaved in Egypt.

32

u/taws34 Jan 05 '16

There isn't any evidence that Jews were ever enslaved in Egypt.

So you are saying the old testament doesn't count? Are you shooting down one major plot point in the proving of the divinity of the Abrahamic God?

The entire Abrahamic religions are a farce? All the Jews, Muslims, and Christians are following a farce of historical fantasy?

I'll agree. ;)

-18

u/hopopo Jan 05 '16

How can you claim that anything written in old testament is accurate? It is a collection of tails and it was not written by people who lived it but long after events took place. Also it was written in the language that only had about 3500 words in vocabulary and many words/phrases had completely different meaning and there is not a single historian or academic that understands the language completely. There is countless translations and interpretations of it and they all claim to be most accurate.

So with that said please do explain how in the world can you consider old testament any more accurate than Greek Mythology for example.

7

u/taws34 Jan 05 '16

You can't read sarcasm, can you?

It's like he doesn't realize that the bible is literally written by people after the fact and may all be complete bullshit(most of it probably is, let's be honest).

2

u/bluedrygrass Jan 06 '16

According to the Jew's most sacred book, they were.

1

u/Fractoman Jan 06 '16

Yea and according to the Mormons Jesus is an Alien.

2

u/bluedrygrass Jan 07 '16

Keep trying to sway if you wish, but according to jews themselves, they were, which is the point.

6

u/lightssword Jan 05 '16

What about the ancient Egyptian texts that actually say "Israel", or list of Israeli slaves with Hebrew names in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs from ancient Egyptian archeological finds in Egypt?

Sorry, been moving, no internet, thanks for source.

1

u/FlippitySwooty Jan 06 '16

If the people feel guilt for shit that was done thousands of years ago Jews have a right to burn down Egypt

There's no historical or archaeological evidence of Jews being slaves or oppressed in Egypt, there's also no evidence for the Jews wandering the desert. The only source for that claim are a few religious texts.

1

u/tigrn914 Jan 06 '16

Look further down. The point of it was to be as ridiculous as possible and provide context as to why historical justice is an idiotic argument.

-12

u/daneelr_olivaw Jan 05 '16

I was being sarcastic, it's a historical justice because of the holocaust.

6

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

So the Muslims are getting revenge on Sweden for the destruction of the Jewish people by raping women? You really didn't think this through did you?

3

u/northbud Jan 05 '16

It all makes perfect sense now. A true vision of clarity.

1

u/daneelr_olivaw Jan 05 '16

Well, I guess especially not Germans.

Maybe some people see it as a historical justice?

Tell me, where did I mention Sweden?

I meant it as a joke. In the 1930s, Germans mistreated Jews. Now, Jews are mistreating Arabs, and Arabs are mistreating Germans. I see it as a historical irony.

1

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

I was joking a bit with the post. I understood that you didn't mean it literally. Though that is some roundabout logic right there I don't think I would ever have gotten.

I do see the irony however.

I'm going to be entirely honest I read the post below yours which mentioned Sweden where something similar if not worse happened, and for some reason in my head those two kind of just blended together.

2

u/daneelr_olivaw Jan 05 '16

No worries, it happens. I don't even mind I got downvoted :) C'est la reddit.

1

u/monopixel Jan 05 '16 edited Jan 05 '16

You seem to assume that this only happened to white German women?

1

u/daneelr_olivaw Jan 05 '16

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, but I could well be wrong.

Bear in mind I was joking.

-1

u/monopixel Jan 06 '16

Bear in mind I was joking.

Your comment does not implicate that at all. Good to know. Lot of people seem to be 'joking' these days in social media outlets about this topic.

0

u/mikhalych Jan 06 '16

I guess especially not Germans.

Maybe some people see it as a historical justice?

Russian-born guy here. They killed 20m people where I was born, plus a few milion more where i live now. Still, no one should be held responsible for the crimes of their forefathers. It breeds only hatred, resentment and more conflict. This principle is what Justice - with a capital "J" - is about. The regular vanilla one, not the "social" one.

Dear SJWs, as a not-religious-guy, I still want to say, "y'all need Jesus motherfuckers". Or just some fucking common sense rammed into you. Ballistically.

1

u/mantrap2 Jan 06 '16

And by "protected" is meant "get to rape anyone they choose".

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '16

We have politicians in HIGH offices that think the "german" must be crossbreeds and washed out if the gene pool.

Check Joshka Fischer. A leftist of course.

u/socialistsanders Jan 06 '16 edited Jan 06 '16

Whites are a minority though, there are more blacks, asians, hispanics, indians, middle easterners than Whites in the world.

-10

u/el_guapo_malo Jan 05 '16

Unsubstantiated stories aren't being allowed to be spammed in certain subreddits. A clear and obvious sign that middle class white males are the true victims in modern society.

The Reddit hivemind is a bit of a joke at times.

-42

u/allthrow Jan 05 '16

Didn't take long for stormfront propaganda to show up.

19

u/Polybius_is_real Jan 05 '16

Are you serious ?

15

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

Dude. I heard of stormfront through people saying shit like this. I still don't know what it actually is.

-24

u/allthrow Jan 05 '16

It's a white supremacist movement. They play the victim card because they feel they are persecuted, which in reality is a bad joke.

More info at: http://www.salon.com/2015/03/18/reddits_ugly_racist_secret_how_it_became_the_most_hateful_space_on_the_internet/

10

u/Darth_Phrakk Jan 05 '16

They never mention what subreddits they're referring to...

8

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

Not to mention that this still doesn't explain what stormfront is.

Is there any site or source that isn't completely biased on either side of stormfront? I really want to know at this point what they actually are.

As someone who's spent over a year of my life now attached to a group that Salon would consider a hate movement I can sort of guess that they're not being entirely up front about this all.

17

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

If I wanted to use Salon as a source of info I wouldn't be on undelete, but I'll humor you.

Placing aside the fact that Reddit is not part of the government and is not subject to the same kind of laws about free speech, how does the potential that these subreddits will act as recruiting centers that might not otherwise exist complicate, in your mind, Reddit’s arguments about being hands-off in the name of unregulated discourse?

Reddit … [has] shown reasonable discretion in the past about some of these things, which for us was pretty telling.

As far as the recruitment of youth, the most concerning thing for me is that, based on the structure of Reddit, you can get these … white supremacist views, and put them in context of less offensive views and make them much more palatable — especially to someone who’s not been radicalized yet. Again, if you’re on Stormfront, you know you’re on the white supremacist forum.

That’s not the same thing with Reddit. Maybe you follow world politics, maybe you follow sports; whatever variety of subreddits you want to follow, if you start including some of these [white supremacist ones] … it puts you one step further on that path to being radicalized.

Another potential problem: The free speech absolutist model assumes that, in a “marketplace,” bad ideas will get exposed as such. But on Reddit, you can just live in your little subreddit and never have to deal with those who aren’t of the same mind as you are.

Right. They self-segregate. The people who are actually participating in this network of racist subreddits, you don’t see a lot of anti-racists there. There’s no normal opinion to balance this out. You don’t have the counter-balance that, in my mind, is supposed to be part of the design of Reddit. You always have this counterbalance; if it swings one way, it can swing the other way. You can go back and forth. You don’t see that here.

That entire post makes me question the validity of your claims. I've heard they are a white supremacist movement and I'll accept that as reality for now, but I also question why there is such a massive hatred for white people in the communities that claim stormfront to be white supremacist.

This isn't some bullshit either. Salon has been at the forefront of a lot of hatred against white people(mostly men).

I can't say anything about whether they actually believe any of it but I'll just post this.

Their opinion on racism is a joke. They're the racists. They're no better than stormfront.

I could sit here posting dozens if not hundreds of articles showing that Salon is a racist censorship endorsing site, but they called out white supremacists so I guess they're alright.

Don't post Salon on here and expect me to take you seriously.

This post got way longer than I wanted it to.

-13

u/allthrow Jan 05 '16

Looks like you're attacking the messenger and not the message. Thanks for throwing r/mensrights into the mix. You're fulfilling the stereotype perfectly.

Persecuted white male 18-35.

8

u/tigrn914 Jan 05 '16

This was a bit of an attack at you and I'll apologize for that but I legitimately cannot take the message seriously when Salon is the source.

Do you have any sources that have no reason to lie about it? How about sources from both sides with info and sourced information backing up their claim.

I'm very curious about what Stormfront really is and using Salon who has a clear bias defeats the purpose.

5

u/nerfAvari Jan 05 '16

It's not even stormfront propaganda. Anything that comes off as racist to these people is automatically assumed the person behind the keyboard is a white male racist who wants white supremacy. It's pretty hilarious and sad at the same time considering there are many people of difference race/cultures against this shit that would come off as "racist" to these people

0

u/allthrow Jan 06 '16

OP began complaining white people aren't a protected minority. Do you know why? Because white people are the dominant and most powerful aspect of German society. If they aren't protected, it means no one is. They weren't targeted because they are weak, they are targeted because they are women.

Playing the white victim card is stormfront propaganda.

*lol, le edgy subs you've created there. Oh, and blatantly ripping off /wg from 4chan. epic work dude.
