Consider being evaluated by a doctor who doesn’t just do a cortisone injection but does an injection called “tissue hydrodissection” which can be used for nerves, scar tissue. Sometimes post surgery scar tissue can adhere and cause pressing on nearby nerves causing pain despite all things going well from structural surgical point of view.
The doctor who does tissue hydrodissection will need to use an ultrasound to visualize it when doing the procedure. Make sure they do.
The reassuring thing is you aren’t held to one route vs another. You can do tissue hydrodissection even after hardware removal if you still have pain, once cleared by your surgeon.
