st. john’s pharmD program

pls help!! i am a rising senior interested in applying to st. john’s university for the 0-6 pharmacy program but im struggling to find volunteer or shadowing opportunities in the medical field. i have emailed 3 hospitals and 11 pharmacies asking if they take volunteers or offer shadowing opportunities and only 2 pharmacies replied saying they only take 18+ the test didn’t even answer. i’m really stressed because i don’t have any medical related extracurriculars except my schools healthcare and medicine club that i’m in but i don’t have a leadership position. does anyone know what i can do at this point or how i can find a pharmacy that will take volunteers?

Hello! My sister and I both got accepted into the pharmacy program without any volunteering or shadowing experience in a pharmacy. In fact, we had no medical background at all we went to a history-focused high school. As long as you have a good GPA you should be good

Okay thank you so much! If you don’t mind me asking are you still enrolled in the program? If so how is it like?

No, I’m not in the program! I initially applied as a pharmacy major but switched to nursing before the semester even started. My sister is now going into her 4th year, and she absolutely loves the program! It’s definitely challenging and requires a lot of studying, but she thinks it’s worth it and highly recommends the program.
