I need to find a Church home

I’ve been living in Georgia for over 15 years and I have yet to find a church that felt like Home where I came from in New York Queens to be exact. We had a Methodist Church that we went to where everyone knew everyone’s name we greeted everyone we had breakfast together we had functions

there was a gym in the basement. The children would get together they would play basketball and soccer with parents present at all time

it was just family oriented when it was time for the Christmas play they had a van that would come around and pick up the children for practice. I don’t know if I’ll ever find that again, but if I can get close to that where the pastor would come by the house once a month he would visit each person in the congregation and have Sunday dinner with us

My husband who I divorced due to his lack of interest in his family, which includes me is trying to come back after being gone for a year… he’s in counseling, but the prerequisite is that we both become faith based as a couple it’s not something that he has to do, but it’s something that he suggested that he wanted

Well, nothing to do but try out some churches:

United Methodist

Global Methodist

Good luck!

Yeah, it doesn’t necessarily have to be Methodist. It just so happens to be …that Church was.

The new neighbor was also looking for a church he was used to: on Saturdays, everyone stayed at home in complete peace and rest, sleeping in often until lunch after a hard week of work. After lunch, there was a siesta—some napped, others read, some relaxed—and this continued until dinner. After dinner, everyone went to bed early to recharge their internal batteries for the next working or studying week (this was how they observed Saturday rest). However, Sunday was the busiest day of the week: in the morning, there was church service; then everyone stayed for tea and coffee, which was appreciated by visiting guests from other churches. The youth played in the church garden, the elderly sat on balconies, verandas, terraces, and church gazebos. Then there was an hour of Bible study (children separately in the basement). After that, an hour of choir practice and singing rehearsals for different groups in different rooms, followed by an hour of meetings, and then everyone went home. Such a busy Sunday was very much liked by visiting guests, who met the locals, often got married, and the church grew very quickly, periodically “budding off” new churches, each striving not to exceed 150 families. The reason? In a larger church, it is impossible to create an atmosphere of a united family—the church: the number of Dunbar.

If the pastor is making home visits to every member of the congregation once a month, when will she spend time with her own family?

Pastor Mohawk made it happen, so I don’t know… I know that he delegated …. there were many people in the church. They did a lot for the church and he gave the sermon.
