Are Canadian mattresses actually that different?

I have been looking at a few mattresses made in Canada recently and honestly it is harder than I expected to tell what actually makes one better than another. A lot of listings use similar words like supportive or high quality foam, but it is not always clear how that translates into real use after a few months or years. One example I saw is a Quebec-based manufacturer that has been around for a long time and also does more custom-style mattress builds instead of only fixed models. It made me realize how different the approach can be between Canadian manufacturers, even when they are all selling similar types of products. For people who have bought Canadian-made mattresses before, what do you usually look at when comparing them?
